Shinzo Abe assasinated?

You're saying it a a "stupid conclusion" to argue that the term "Jap" is an ethnic slur.

Interesting stance. Japanese and Japanese Americans find the term very offensive. Prior to 1941 it was not considered offensive. Guess what, it's not the 1940s anymore.
After Pearl Harbor I don’t care what the Japanese find offensive. Just like I don’t care what you find offensive.

Like forever?

talk about sins of the father. The people in charge of Pearl Harbor have been dead for quite some time.

Could be. He was in the Navy so who knows. Is military service compulsory in Japan?
Abe was hawkish on issues of defense, but is tough to nail down in terms of conservative/moderate/liberal on the rest of his political agenda. He pushed for more women in the workplace, for instance. To me he'd fall into the John McCain box if you were trying to categorize him.

Abe did seem like a genuinely good person and I think Trump's message was sincere and for the first time I've read, one of class.

Like slave owners?
Yes. I don't like slaveholders, I don't like the Japanese that planned the attack. I don't like modern people making excuses for owning slaves, I don't like anyone trying to absolve Japan (or Germany) of their guilt in starting a war

I have nothing against people whose family owned slaves as long as they know it was/is wrong. I have nothing against Japanese so long as they know beginning that war was/is wrong.

Perfect example.

Here is what I said:

“Im guessing the shooter was a psycho-babbler with strong social media wokeness opinions. The “listen to me” folks are getting crazier every day.”

If you want to declare that to be conservative mind-controlled propaganda, I can live with it. But I’d say you exaggerated more than me.

Again - I criticized AN ASSASSIN, which somehow triggered The Usual Suspects.

AN ASSASSIN.
The more you're attacked by the leftist todies on this forum, the more you know you are hitting close to home.

Congratulations on exposing the mentally unstable!

Abe was killed by a HOMEMADE GUN. Boy that's a new one. Who would ever have thought this could happen?

So reports are the murderer was mad that his mother went bankrupt. She had been giving to a religion and he believed Abe was a leader in that religion.

Please get to work tying this to the left/rghi paradigm inside the United States. Simpletons like me are struggling to see how it fits.

No, the issue you want to ignore, is he made his own gun. That same thing would happen here !

I think that's really a stretch. Abe was all about building up the Japanese military.

The guy is more likely a pacifist and against changing the Japanese Constitution to take out the pacifist language.
Put a gun in a pacifist’s hands and this is what happens?

It seems irrelevant to focus on what a stupid person thinks about world events. Let's post the MTG and Lauren Bobert takes. Then some slingblade type guy from a trailer park in KY.
Like it or not, and I don’t, that person was our President for four years. Statements like these are expected from our former Presidents. Unlike many of his statements, this one was appropriate. Just be grateful for that and scroll past it. I did.

The gun appears to have 2 barrels, each contained one round. Some observers say it appears to be a smoothbore. Give that gun to the Highland Park shooter or the Uvalde shooter and I suspect casualty counts would be lower.
He was going after one victim.

How did Murdoch work out for you?
I thought Young was not running for another term? Swear I heard that somewhere. I think he might try to go for Governor to start rounding out that resume for his bigger ambition.

Edit: Got my politicians messed up. Trey Hollingsworth in the Congressional 9th is the one not seeking reelection.

“Had voted illegally routinely for years,” what does that mean?
His permanent residence was Washington D.C. Had been for years.

His former residence on Highwoods Drive east in Indianapolis was used as his legal residence, although neither he nor family lived at that address for years. When he and staff returned (rarely) to Indiana, they stayed in hotels or other private residences.

Lugar voted illegally.

If he weren't a loser maybe people would know. How did he work out for you.
Richard is successful in business and in life.

He is grounded and moral and with any support at all from the Republican king makers he'd have prevented the excrable liar Joe Donnelly from holding office.

His work as State Treasurer resulted in successful investment returns, clean audits and development, advocating for and developing a program adopted by the State Legislature to help companies fund and support ESOPs. ESOPs have allowed thousands of Indiana workers earn an ownership stake in companies, while providing a path for private/family-owned business to transfer equity to employees.

Your attitude about this good man says more about you than about Richard.

I think his statement about rape was his fault, and an endorsement from our chief conspiracy theorist confirms it.

That makes no sense and is false as well. The idea that he voted illegally makes no sense. He was elected as Senator by the people of Indiana six times, basically all landslides. Of course, his votes were legal. That he wasn’t an Indiana resident is false. The Indiana Election Commission, appointed by Mitch Daniels, voted 4-0 that he was an Indiana resident. He worked in DC and bought a residence there and that he sold his residence in Indiana is irrelevant. He maintained his Indiana citizenship, and until the more extreme Republicans gained some influence in the party, Republicans we were all good with it. I was an Indiana resident living in Hawaii (my work location) without a home in Indiana and I voted for Lugar. Was my vote illegal? Lincoln never returned to Illinois after his election as President, was he an illegal President. I’d bet a lot of money this has been common throughout our history with congressmen - it’s expensive to maintain two homes. It’s understandable as a political issue, but it’s only a political issue his opponents could use - that makes none of it a legal or even an ethical issue.

It’s pure nonsense.

Look at what they tell military people, it is where you consider your permanent residence. If you own property and lived in Indiana before the military but in you get transferred to California for 8 years, you can still vote in Indiana if you consider that Indiana property your permanent home. But if you change your official residence to California, you can't revert back to Indiana without moving there.

If Lugar considered his Indiana home his permanent residence, it fit.

Owning land or a residence in Indiana is irrelevant. I didn’t. It’s all about where we join, where we pay taxes, and/or where we intend to eventually return. I did expect to return to Indiana, but I haven’t, so I’m now an Ohio resident. The intent part is in no way binding. We just don’t know really.

Thanks, so Lugar planning on returning is all he needed to be compatible with the military law (and also college students).

Richard is morally centered, and he expressed publicly his pro life stance many times.

The prepared response to the gotcha press was; "...my opponent claims to support the pro life position, as do I. It is not an issue in this campaign. Next question?".

He didn't use the prepared response.

It was irrelevant. The Daniels appointed Indiana Election Commission voted 4-0 to confirm Lugar was a legal resident of Indiana. It was a no-brainer confirmation, but the Mourdock backers pushed it. It didn’t satisfy them as you can see. No ruling, even by Republican appointees, satisfies our fringe element.

It isn't nonsense at all.

Lugar lost touch with Indiana voters years before we canned him. He was always popular with farmers, as he championed many subsidy programs they loved.
Mourdock knows the subsidy payments amount to little more than ag welfare...

Lugar was not on military active duty and did not campaign 160 years ago...

Your corollary doesn't work.

The idea that he lost touch with Hoosiers, true or not, is a standard and legitimate political campaign issue. That’s not nonsense even if I disagree with the allegation.

That he wasn’t eligible to represent Indiana is nonsense. He was eligible and the commission confirmed it. Stick with legitimate political issues and move away from the nonsense stuff and you’d be a much better poster and Republican.

I, for one, was a big fan of Lugar. He was a solid Republican and superb Senator for Indiana. RIP, Senator Lugar.

Sorta like environmentalists who save the world by blocking traffic and cause vehicles to idle hours on the highway.

There are people who are against war between countries who don't have a problem with violence.

I was a big admirer of Lugar as a person. As a politician, he turned squishy once he had some seniority. And, while you may not think coming home and living around his constituents is important, it was politically stupid of him not to.

He grew away from the values that made him a good Hoosier and voted accordingly in the Senate.

It was very relevant.

When Republican primary voters were educated as to Lugar's voting sleight of hand and other items their judgement was to replace him....

The primary night party was epoch...

I can't figure out how the guy got so close. He was like 10 feet away. Odd.
The photos of the assassin getting grabbed shows nearby people in the background on bicycles.

Abe's security did not keep any separation between Abe and spectators -- it looked like no bulletproof podium, no human shield, no confinement of spectators to just one direction.

Pure fiction to think ammunition would pass a metal detector,

I've set them off with the metal foil on a stick of gum and with foil-embossed Christmas cards.
