Former IU baseball standout Sam Travis was called up by the Boston Red Sox from Triple-A Pawtucket this afternoon.

It's too bad that Travis doesn't play third. He would have a much greater chance of being in the lineup regularly. I've been seeing that he has been hot the last month and I expected the Red Sox would call him up. He will probably backup Mitch Moreland, since Hanley Ramirez no longer seems willing to play first.
