again: tim and karen were pawning T Tech crap on S Meridian during our 2002 F4 run, and our bumpkins were buying it up.
it was never about Indiana. it was about Bob Knight's Indiana. Great coach. Horribly flawed person. And a total bully.

It was "never about Indiana" for a relatively small number of what I have always called "Knight-o-philes"...non-grad fans that were fans of Knight but not really IU. I never knew they existed until after graduation when I began woring in the braoder marketplace.
The vast majority of them disappeared by the time he left TT.

It's pretty much consensus he was a great coach and a flawed person. It's obviously extremely common for humans to be flawed or complicated. There is nothing wrong with remembering the good side of RMK -- he was a great coach and positive influence for a lot of players. Every mention of him doesn't need to include a run-down of all of his faults and mistakes, everyone knows them.

From 1973-1994, I really do believe he was. Had a few bad bounces keeping him from one or two
more crowns.
Beating UNLV was the best of many great wins. I thought we nor anyone else could beat them in the tournament.
Four more years and he is eligible for a memorial name, unless the trustees approve an exception to policy.

He was larger than life, an expert in his chosen trade and I'm of the age where many of my fondest memories growing up had Coach Knight attached to them. Not a real classy move insulting peoples memories.
yep I watch that game on youtube once a year. Fn track meet, never thought RMK would decide to run with the runnin' Rebs, but it worked.

The Chris Reynolds taking a charge against PSU on the road in 93 was, in my opinion, one of the greatest plays in IU basketball history.
But the UNLV game strategy was genius too.
Yes, but sadly, Chris missed his second free throw subsequent to the miraculous charging call, sending the game into overtime, which we lost. Had we won that game, it would have been, to this day, the last unblemished conference season. Instead, 17-1 still festers as a sore thumb might.
