I exchanged messages with former UAB wide receiver Kyree Hollis last night. He told me that he is also transferring to IU and is joining the program as a walk-on. He is from Indianapolis and played at Cardinal Ritter HS. He redshirted this past season at UAB and will have 4 years of eligibility remaining at IU. It is a really nice walk-on get for IU. He is a guy that has a shot to get in the mix at slot receiver, and at the very least he could be a nice returner for them on special teams.
He is on campus right now with Marqui Hawkins and Jordan Howard and he told me the three of them were looking for an apartment in Bloomington yesterday. I asked him what Marqui and Jordan as Southern guys thought about the weather up here and he told me they said it was really cold but bearable. Not sure I agree with the bearable part because it is downright brutal right now, but good for them for being good sports about it.
