BC QB Castellanos

Castellanos is a good runner. Would add an extra dimension to the offense and he was productive so I think Cig would approve.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Cig probably doesn’t like the idea of a kid that enters the portal midseason after a bit of adversity. If he does then I will have full confidence in him, but CCC strikes me as a guy that prioritizes resiliency and perseverance. I’m one that is a huge proponent of the portal and was very vocally supportive of Mcculley transferring to protect his remaining eligibility. Yet, I can’t help but find fault for a kid that bails on his team in this circumstance.

He is not a guy saving a year of eligibility by keeping to less than 4 games. He was injured in a game, and lost His starting job. He quit on his teammates down the stretch, picked up his ball and went Home. Sorry, We don't need a Drama Queen QB Who might abandon his teammates when things don't go his way.

Would grabbing a QB show a lack of confidence to Tayven Jackson? You want competition but need to manage confidence levels as well.
To Me it would be about evening out Your Roster more than showing lack of confidence. After this year, I believe Jackson has 2 years of eligibility remaining. Cherry and Mendoza will be Redshirt Sophomores with no meaningful game experience. If Jackson goes down, You have nobody behind Him with experience. Given the injury probability at the position, You really need a second Experienced QB on the roster.
Look how short Michigan ended up at quarterback this year. Maybe They were expecting Tuttle to be physically ready at the beginning of the season. However, They ended up with Tuttle not ready and two inexperienced Quarterbacks, one of Whom never throws the ball. Whether They got caught with Harbaugh leaving and recruits not coming in, or other reasons, it's amazing to Me that the defending National Champion would be that short on Quality QB's.
