Realistic coaching list….

He inquired about the job behind the scenes when we hired Woodson. Texas job came open and he took it.
I hope that you are right, because if we are back here in three years then we might be up shit creek with our boosters. I can’t see them sustaining this cycle of coaches buy outs indefinitely.

Charges were dropped

Doesn't matter. No one of here actually knows what did or didn't occur, but there is zero chance IU makes a play for a guy that may or may not have committed an assault against his wife. Zero. Percent.

Ever think the university would consider Steve Alford? In his 33rd season of head coach experience with a 65.7% winning percentage (Dusty May at 63.6% in his fifth year). Alford, a former guard, knows the motion offense, knows shooting and could likely recruit in state - and continue to retain that 'Knight fan base'.

His demonstrated ceiling is similar to Crean's.

I guess this list is for next year because they are not going to buy him out this year. 🤷‍♂️
And you know this how? You really seem to support Woody just asking why you support him so much when everybody sees the writing on the wall.

12 million which they can defer and pay him a sum or over the next few years. Plus Miller took over the Rhode Island Job which offsets 1.9 million per year. Also just Indiana's basketball makes over 30million a year in revenue just basketball thats not football. We have the money stupid for people act like this is not doable.

If the President and BOT want no part of Beard (I don’t know one way or the other) then I suppose IU would be looking at guys like Schertz and May. Maybe other guys like Drew Valentine and Kim English if they win big in the near future. Possibly some somewhat more established guys like Richey, Kelsey or Mitch Henderson. Mark Madsen if he does well at Cal I suppose could get a look.

Not the most scintillating list perhaps but maybe a realistic one if the IU Administration nixed a Beard candidacy. He’d be about the only guy I can think of that IU might have an outside chance at who could qualify as a “splash hire.”

Beard wasn’t charged with anything. Maybe she made up the story because she was mad. That happens quite a bit. Maybe it was all true and some payoff or coercion resulted in her not wanting to press changes. Could be true too.

When the time comes, IU should interview him and find out and make a judgment call. This is what good ADs do. He might be the one for us, it’s worth looking into given he has not broken any laws and he is good enough for Ole Miss. And whatever you think of Ole Miss, they’re still a legit public D1 school that would have done a very, very deep dive into this issue,

I believe he would win championships here. Plural

Fightin' Irish Football logic. We got all kinds of money. We can pay Davie, Willingham, Weis and Kelley all.at the same time!

What are you going to do with this list when Woodson returns next year? I do not see him resigning or Indiana firing him. I guess everyone has a pipe dream. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah but there was that time he had a recruit over to his house for a barbecue. Can't have a no good scumbag like that at IU. Much better to lose with honor and dignity.
Well we know if Pamela Whitten has a say, and she does, you can most definately assure both Pearl and Beard wont be discussed. She is that *special* to keep this circus going downhill.

These names aren’t “year-specific” and could be just as relevant a year from now (which imo would be the first time an actual search would be even a remote possibility).

For me, discussing possible candidates (even “prematurely” in some people’s eyes) beats venting about the same issues the program has had, and failed to resolve, for most of past decade. I first brought up Curt Cignetti’s name on the football boards in the fall of 2022, and I don’t regret being “premature” on that one.

So what was the deal with Beard? As a I remember, the charges were dropped. Were they dropped because the dependent didn't want to tarnish his image kinda thing or was it complete BS? I honestly don't want someone that has anger issues and would be a liability.
lol lets keep woodson who leads the country in ejections and has no culture. We cant be holier than thou with woodson cause we are not.

I hope that you are right in three years from now.

Looking for new coaches now only spreads that toxic negativity that kills programs. When Woodson is back next year, our fan base will become the embarrassment that they are crying about now. Negativity like this is not good for any program especially when we might need to attract top coaching talent in a year from now. I would say show some maturity and wait to see how this year plays out.

Better yet, fans could show even more maturity by waiting to see how the next 20 years play out. Negativity is indeed toxic, and as fans we need to do our part and make sure that we don’t cause the downfall of IU basketball.
