Did you listen to the podcast you gave me on the Book Cub? They speak a lot about changing culture. I’m drilling down on what that even means and why it’s changing. . Females using more anxiety meds is a fact. The effects of anxiety disorders is well understood. Young women being more liberal is a fact. Yes, I’m connecting dots between anxiety disorders and politics, but that connection is not without substance.
lol... in all seriousness the rise in mental health issues is scary. I assume it's a culmination of many factors; broken families, broken money, fewer fathers, fewer siblings, decrease in Christianity, social media, over prescribed anti-depressants, and etc. The birthrate in the U.S. recently plummeted to 1.6%, we're literally trying to exterminate ourselves. It's not good.

Your connection of the dots is unsupported. Re meeting the next argument, that's the logic you're using. It's wrong. You've established nothing more than a correlation. McM's correlation is much stronger and explains more (and also can't be proven to be a cause, I'm guessing). Plus, not that I put a ton of weight in the authority card, but McM, lars, and I all have teenage daughters. We see this on a daily basis with them and their friends. It's pretty obvious.
I agree, but not to the depth and degree that we have it now. Also, I think these things become worse over generations and take time to play out. If it happened for example in 1975, you were still more likely to have a couple of siblings, married grandparents, and etc. It also begs the question, who do you think is more likely on social media?

More simplistic, the most conservative posters here are claiming women are more liberal because they are crazy. There is at least a little misogyny there. Maybe, we are seeing this large gender split between the parties based upon where the cohorts feel most welcome.
I think some of this might be attributed to how and what we teach in schools. Public schools have spent more than a decade teaching DEI, and that is going to necessarily lead to more socially liberal views in kids who take that education to heart (and from the stats we see re boys v. girls in schools, it appears girls pay more attention and do better in school than boys do, on average). Economically, I'm not sure how many states require classical economics to be integrated into history curriculums, which is where or how you would inculcate that discipline because US history is required (economics is not). For this theory to hold, you'd have to compare female political ID with state curriculums. Might not hold.

I think some of it is a reaffirming doom loop. There are more liberal women in education, today, who end up driving the curriculum more than 30 years ago. They’re also more likely to drive research, teach the teachers, who end up teaching the students. Getting 90% of them to believe all of that shit is a hell of brainwashing program. On some level, I’m jealous. I just want them to be brainwashed by other people 😁
