Question: Vaccinations for Children

You’re wrong. Something you are very used to. Show me the clip of him saying no vaccine was safe and effective. You won’t, because he didn’t.
Dude, it's been linked here SEVERAL times by more than one person. Jesus, you're impossible. It's even in this thread. WTF is wrong with you? That's a serious question by the way.

What are your thoughts on vaccinations for children? RFK Jr. & Co. appears to be pushing "federal drug regulators to revoke approval for the polio and hepatitis B vaccines and block distribution of 13 other critical vaccines."

If you had the choice, would you choose not to have your child or grandchildren given the required or recommended vaccinations? Like MMR and polio vaccines? Do you agree with RFK Jr. and would you trust his "research" and findings?

I'm just curious.

My 7-month old granddaughter is in the vax regimen....I am very conflicted.

No vaccine is completely safe and effective. Big difference dumbass.
That's precisely what WE ARE SAYING.

Vaccinations have risks.
Lack of vaccination has risks.
Thus, vaccinations have rewards.

Weigh risk vs. reward.

If vaccination raises a person's change for heart disease from 8% to 9%, but the serious disease it averts raises a person's change for heart disease from 8% to 50%,

then the DUMBASS (YOU) yells VacCiNeS kiLL yoU!

Whereas the smart person thinks about it and says the reward supercedes the risk.

Do you GET IT?

BUELLER?

You're amazingly invested in defending RFK Jr. Why? What has he done for you? Why do you think he's such a great pick? He's not even a Republican and he was a 2004 conspiracy theorist who claimed GWB only won due to voter fraud in Ohio. His own words about vaccines, which were linked in this thread (again), show that he's anti-vax at worst and a vaccine skeptic at bet. He's definitively said that no vaccine was safe AND effective. What do you make of that statement? Now that he knows he may have to go through a confirmation hearing he's changed his tune a bit because no anti-vax person is likely to be confirmed for Secretary of HHS. Why do you completely buy his newer statements and completely disregard his original statements? Was he lying then or is he lying now?
I think you’re being too literal with the safe and effective. I suspect he means that it’s harmless. That they are not harmless. You know they operate in the no fault world for adverse outcomes. There’s a national compensation fund. He takes a critical eye to things. Maybe there’s a way to make them even safer. Maybe there should be liability. Maybe goose stepping isn’t always best. We lost a lot of faith in cdc nih etc. let’s revisit how we operate. Go jr

Could be, but I’m a grammar guy. I took his comments literally.

He’s an enviro trial lawyer. He’s relied on experts his entire professional life. I doubt he’s going rogue. The recalcitrance to even questioning our wasteful, bloated, failing gov is lost on me

“The polio vaccine has saved millions of lives and held out the promise of eradicating a terrible disease,” McConnell, who had polio as a child, said in a statement. “Efforts to undermine public confidence in proven cures are not just uninformed – they’re dangerous.”
“Anyone seeking the Senate’s consent to serve in the incoming Administration would do well to steer clear of even the appearance of association with such efforts,” McConnell added, in a not-so-veiled reference to Kenndy being tapped by Trump to lead the U.S. Health and Human Services Department next year.

God is good. He was presenting your daughter an opportunity to quit soccer.
Ignored along with the other good advice and counsel given.

Can’t wait to spend 100k (please Notre Dame she’s not even Catholic) on her education. Have I mentioned one of her requirements is “aesthetics?”

She’s warming to IU. Please Lord at least grant me a reason to end up in Bloomington on occasion.

Again and again, Kennedy has made his open opposition to vaccines clear.

In July, Kennedy said in a podcast interview that “There’s no vaccine that is safe and effective”

In a 2023 interview with Fox News, RFK claimed that “autism comes from vaccines"

He founded an openly antivaccine group called "Children's Health Defense" which cranked out so much vaccine misinformation that Google took them off their platform (RFK sued and lost).

He has even compared vaccinations to the Holocaust!

There are dozens of clips of him spouting antivaccine rhetoric, regardless of what he is saying now.
You’re lying and being super disingenuous. He says that the annual vaccines don’t go through the same strenuous clinicals as do other drugs. And he’s right.

Does that mean they’re not safe? No. They’re very likely safe because I trust the Sanofi’s of the world and their CGMP sterile processes. But what he’s saying is 100% accurate…albeit misleading.

Mark, I am not familiar with that study and I am not seeing it with a google news search.

It's possible that, if your body makes antibodies to an amino acid sequence within the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, those antibodies might also attack an amino acid sequence in a certain type of cancer cell that happens to be both important for tumor growth and (by coincidence) similar to the amino acid sequence within the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.

It is probably specific to a certain cancer cell type or certain stage in cancer growth. Just an educated guess though.
Isn’t this potentially similar to the concept of delivering targeted viruses to cancer patients to cause their immune system to attack both the virus and cancer?

Nothing is 100% safe and effective. If that is what we demanded, water and air would be banned.

Is the solution really to tell pharma to spend a billion on a single new vaccine? That will be the cost, at least.

No, no chance we won't pay FAR more for vaccines after doing that (sarcasm off).

Some of us don't want new, tighter regulations on air and water quality because it will cost business too much. Right? Yet we decide "clean enough" is the stopping point. Some people can get sick and die, just keep it manageable.

Make hospitals GREAT again!

You seem stable.

$100k? Is she going to community college?

My grandfather was obsessed with going to my soccer games. He had a cane with a long spike out of the end that he’d use to hobble around killing moles. When he was a kid in the hospital at children’s babe Ruth came and sat with him.
polio #worthit.
Don’t worry, God hates me. My wife signed my youngest up for some fancy soccer league bullshit for the next 8 months. It’s basketball season and he’s playing f#cking soccer🙄

I’m generally easy going and let her get away with murder, but we had a good argument over it. I lost. Why? Because she signed a contract and we can’t get out of it. I now have two kittens and kid playing year around soccer. F#ck my life.

It literally went against everything I wanted for my kids in sports. I want them to play multiple sports, in their seasons, in cheap leagues. What did my wife do? Sign him up for a f#cking sport I don’t even like, that costs a shit ton of money, and is year around. Bitcoin is the only reason I wake up and go on living.

Praying for some kind of scholarship.

She did get 25k a year from DePaul. And yeah I know they probably give 50% of the admitted students the same thing. If she does accidentally get into Notre Dame I’m ****ing screwed.

Mitch is always right, isn’t he?

We need vaccination more than ever if we're going to allow millions of uninoculated infiltatrators to cross our border. I think that's a bigger concern.

Kind of like when Harris changed a lot of her views on topics….RFK Jr has way too many harebrained ideas but the pretzel twisting in this thread is comical
