Purdoo! LMAO.

Could be both. I don’t know because I haven’t watched them or that game. If you are using kenpom for your stats you might want to stop. They aren’t accurate yet but by all means tell me what you saw. 😉
I saw a team have an off night while another had a good night. Exactly what happened to Purdue. Exactly what happened to Kansas vs Marquette. Exactly what happened to Marquette vs Wisconsin and so on. It happens. That's why they play the games.

I turned off at the half as it was nausiating watching Edey shoot FTs over ticky tac crap while pushing shoving and over the back with no calls. Smith is quick to the rebound, I will give him that but beyond that he dribbles in circles and cannot create or defend. X, Gallow or Cupps will defend him well.
Oh hell. I could probably guard Smith. All I’d have to do is just stand there. He’ll dribble in that circle and eventually come right back to where I’m standing. 🤪

When that "off" night happens consecutively against the same opponent, that's a pattern.

So Purdue had an off night? Not according to your coach. At his presser he said 89 points is enough to win. He also said defense has been a problem. It looks to me you don’t know what you are seeing. I’m seeing a team that struggles defensively and has a problem with bigger more athletic guards who actually guard. Those 3 big wins aren’t as big of wins as you think. I see Olé when it comes to those wins.

That’s called “Zoom” it works but you have to be good.

Oh good lord. Of course that's enough points to win. You can score enough points to win and still have an off night. They aren't mutually exclusive.

I never said the D was spectacular either. My entire argument here has been the 3 point shooting and the turnovers. Those are bigger factors to the loss than our D.

Normally a troll is a guy who isn’t a part of their own board.
Making up our own definitions are we?

trolled; trolling; trolls

2
a: to antagonize (others) online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content… trolls engage in the most outrageous and offensive behaviors possible—all the better to troll you with.—Whitney Phillips

b: to act as a troll (see troll entry 3 sense 2) on (a forum, site, etc.)… is also notorious, for trolling message boards on the Internet, posting offensive material he himself has written and then suing anyone who responds in agreement.—Mark Hemingway

c: to harass, criticize, or antagonize (someone) especially by provocatively disparaging or mocking public statements, postings, or acts. The switch came after the Chargers became the butt of jokes, memes and derision on social media. The NFL tweeted the initial logo Thursday, but later deleted it as the Chargers even got trolled by other pro and college sports teams over the logo that looked like a cross between baseball's Dodgers and hockey's Lightning.—Arnie Stapleton

I've done none of these.

You actually took time out of your life to do that?

Hey doofus. If you can’t see the similarities of each of the last 3-4 years of mid major Matt’s teams I don’t think you ever will. Defense… guards…and shooting. All the above.

Love how people try to make out the fact that we get fouled a lot as some reason to believe that the officials were slanted toward Purdue in some way.

Yes, we shot a lot of free throws because we got fouled a lot. We fouled quite a bit in this game too. That doesn't change the fact that they allowed illegal screens all 2nd half. Try to keep up.
Try to keep up that you were on here whining about officiating when at a road game you shot a zillion free throws. Tell Zach to stop throwing elbows and Loyer to stop flopping and we’ll talk.

People that don't know the game thinks Edey is throwing elbows. I think it's hilarious that just because a team has a guy that draws a lot of fouls that there can't be an issue with officiating elsewhere. Dumbest argument ever.

Considering they won the conference by 3 games last year and returned everyone, yes. Until someone takes it from them.
FDU was a #17 seed. It is no coincidence that Charlie Brown dons black and gold.

Maybe. Or maybe Purdoo just chokes at every turn. Or maybe some of both…
Well Purdue did manage to get to December 1 until their yearly gag, so I’ll give them the November National Championship again-for the 3rd straight year. At least it wasn’t Rutgers again who beat them this time.

Anyone catch Buie's comment after the game, saying that the 'two best players in the nation" were on the court tonight?

He's a good player, gets away with some pushoffs/flops...but to say that, is just a tad bit arrogant. IMHO.

Every time a Northwestern player breathed on Edey the refs called a foul. They protect him too much, ridiculous!
And yet TJD was the most protected player in the BiG. Chest bumps a Purdue player with a ref 3 feet away looking on…no foul called. It could have incited a riot.
And yes they lost to NW.
Edey gets mauled almost every play.and the difference in programs…if NW beats IU. The crowd won’t storm the court. Why would they?
But you are correct. They could go out early still again. They haven’t figured it out. I hope they do.

They are, but also have to give NW credit. They played almost flawless basketball. 22 assists to 3 turnovers. That is extremely efficient basketball. They won the game despite being out rebounded 52-27 and a disadvantage at the free throw line. Purdue made 31 free throws to NW attempting 32 and making 20. This difference was mitigated at the 3pt line in favor of NW. The game came down to execution and ultimately, guard play. NW guards play was superior to Purdue and it made up for the Edey factor. PU consistently turned the ball over losing possessions and NW executed and was more efficient. That along with Buie being clutch was why NW won. A great game and a nightcap to the IU win.
You are correct. That’s why Purdue lost. Buie played 43 minutes without a turnover. The man was outstanding and so much better than the Purdue guards.

Can be a fine line, for sure.
But I like players who display high levels of confidence and back it up. BB has done that most every time I have seen him play. Would have been a huge addition to find someone like him.

blah blah blah, Purdue is in 10th place in the B1G today, and holds the same overall record as IU. Purdue lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament; IU moved on beyond that. Purdue doesn't understand big boy basketball because they are too worried about the regular season and even then, look what it's gotten them so far this year.

They storm the court because they beat the number one team , has nothing to do with the name on the jersey.

Just stop

You can sell this crap on your board, but there are way too many posters here that know the game.
