POTUS Debate: Prediction

Keep telling yourself this is natural.

OK,I must be missing something? A great soundbite for Biden which will gain him more independent votes (check out the latest Fox News poll), no jumbled words and a message that strikes home with the people who say that "saving Democracy" is their top issue...

Again check out Fox's own poll, which went from Trump +1 in May to Biden +2 now. Both are in the margin of error, but Biden achieved the magical 50% mark. And the key is Independents...

"The new survey shows nearly all partisans remain loyal, as 95% of Democrats are with Biden and 95% of Republicans back Trump.

The key is that Independents favor Biden by 9 points, a shift from May when they preferred Trump by 2 points. While equal numbers of Independents say leadership (59%) and integrity (58%) are extremely important to their vote decision, they are more likely to say Biden has integrity by 23 points compared to Trump being a strong leader by only 11. More on those traits later."

While I don't think polls are the end all be all, there is aome really troubling points for Trump in both the Fox News poll released yesterday and the You Gov poll released earlier. As more people rate Biden's handling of the economy better, independents are turning their attention to pro-Democracy issues.

I've said all along that Independents are not going to vote for a convicted felon, and that's exactly what the latest polls show. Also abortion is still going to be a factor in states like AZ where it is on the ballot...

Hmmmm. Trump noticed that Foxnews poll, too.

I predict that DJT is going to run away with this one. If for no other reason than I believe the rules are going to result in, at least, the PERCEPTION of a lot stronger performance.

Reasoning: As I understand it, the rules include that there is no audience and that mics can be muted so we don't have the train wreck of interruptions and over-talking that have been the hallmark of other DJT "debates." Personally, I'd love to hear an actual debate where the candidates are able to punch-counterpunch like an actual debate, but those times are long gone.

Conventional wisdom would say that this will benefit Biden because he won't have to fight the interruptions and can get out his canned responses.

I think the conventional wisdom is flat wrong. To be sure, we the viewers won't be hearing Trump's interruptions and interjections. But I have absolutely ZERO confidence that he won't be making them. Therefore, I expect him to be a monster distraction to Biden and expect him to trip Biden up significantly, but on TV, it'll look like Biden is just doddering because we won't be able to hear what Trump is saying. The dream scenario for Team Trump might be that during a Biden answer that Biden pops off asking him to shut up or something. It'll have "old man yells at clouds" vibes because we won't be able to hear what came before.

Anyway, just some thoughts.
The most interesting rule is the parties' joint agreement that the candidates may have blank paper and pen ... but no pre-written notes.

Think about it. The debate is to be 90 minutes. Biden and his campaign agreed to no notes. His campaign staff is around him all the time. They know better than we what he is really like.

Surely he and they think he can pull it off without notes, or they wouldn't have agreed. Wow.

Predict the number of citizens concerned about the country heading in the wrong direction will increase as a result of the so called debate.

Four more years. Pause. His face doesn’t even look the same at this point. Some weird odd frozen expression. No one is exaggerating. I’m sure he has days that are better than others but zero chance he lasts five years
[/QUOTE]

Quite the take by "the Scientist"
Biden has already decamped to Camp David, to have his mind, such as it is at this stage, stuffed with one-liners to whisper into his mic.

I’m telling you, everyone should be prepared for the inevitable - the ascension of Kamalalala, either at the convention or early in 2025, as POTUS.

Heaven. Help. Us.

He's shut everything down until the debate. Good thing nothing is going on with the country that needs his attention.

Biden will be pumped full of so many drugs like in the SOTU address that he'll be passable. But his record is so atrocious Trump will clearly win the debate. And the moderators are 100% Dem party hacks.

Trump's arrogance may be his undoing. He never should have agreed to a debate. Biden has shown that with enough juice in his system he can spout some of the Dems' talking points, which is all that is required by the despicable MSM. They don't give two shits that he's incapacitated.. All he has to be is alive.

Biden used invisible ink. Also has a earbud implanted so that his handles can talk him through it lol

No downside for the Dems. If he doesn't poop his pants the MSM will say he won. If he does, he gets a visit by the party dons and he's out. In that event, the situation is at least clarified. They can start gaslighting the public propping up KH....or she & the party bosses can make a deal for her to step aside in favor of GN. What do you want Kamala...the Supreme Court or the Governor's mansion?

And Trump would beat him like a drum. As ridiculous as it sounds Biden still does by far the best against Trump of any possible Dem candidate. The whole Scranton Joe or Papa Joe nonsense still has weight in the upper Midwest.

More projecting?

Hopefully Trump's depends holds up for 90 minutes. Although I'm sure they have trumpers like you willing to change it for him on the fly ;)

Your last paragraph says all that one needs to understand about the Democratic Party....happy to win by killing babies and political prosecutions. That's all they got. It may well be enough.

Biden's greatest strength is his will to power. Trump is sometimes immoral. Biden is always amoral. Biden literally does not care that his policies have been so destructive to so many different people. Do you think he has lost a minute of sleep about the Lincoln Riley's of the world? How could any elderly, declining presidential candidate pick Kamala Harris as his VP? There is a simple answer. He does not give a shit, That's why Biden is and has always been a much bigger 'threat to democracy' than Trump.

What did he do to Lincoln Riley?

There are a handful of Democrats that would historically destroy Trump. Just like there are a handful of Republicans that would destroy Biden. It sucks both sides are forcing this "JV" level game on us.

Trump needs to keep his answers short, too.

Trump usually pronounces his individual words with some precision (except for gaffes like "Thighland"), but he sometimes gets mixed up and changes thought in mid-sentence, never returning to what he tried to say in the first place. Transcripts of Trump-speak are sometimes not translatable. These are indications about Trump's diminishing memory and focus, though different than Biden's.

Who know which one is really worse?
