POTFB

I want Purdue to win it all for one reason and one reason only. (Or two.) It'll make Indiana the butt of thousands of embarrassing jokes. Which will sting more because they'll all have that kernel of truth.

That's the only thing I see getting Whitten and Dolson off their rear ends. Embarrassment for their role in squandering a legacy.

So, go Purdue. I want our Hoosiers back!

(The other slight reason is, at least they're in the state of Indiana.)
IU was dead and buried a long time ago, unfortunately. Hell, we are pretty much an afterthought in the state of Indiana. For what should be the large, flagship program….that ship ran aground a long time ago.

What did Purdue have to do with the draw, or the officiating? Would you be in a position to make a similar claim about any other Final Four teams? Did not UConn play what amounted to four home games? Is that not what seeding is all about? Are not UConn and Purdue the two highest ranked teams and the ones that played exactly as they were seeded? Did you know that Tennessee was one of the highest fouling teams in the country? Did you know that five months ago Purdue shot 48 free throws against the Vols in a game four thousand miles away and with totally different officials? Isn’t what you have a strong anti Purdue bias which impacts any possibility of objectivity?
You realize that you calling out bias with anyone is completely the pot calling the kettle black?
You might as well be his twin, if that’s the case. You are a 1000% Purdue and have been your entire life. You do have a wealth of experience following this conference but you are literally the original “homer” if there was one.

IU has struggled mightily but is anything but an “afterthought” in the state. IU is still by far the most popular program and most followed; by IU and rival fans alike

Very few if any other teams in the country that had the issues we have had would still draw a full house and dominate in neutral site games.

It is just different at Indiana.

Purdue is in Indiana. Indiana is not in Purdue. That's a flagship.

Purdue BASKETBALL in Indiana? That would be a winner.

I have no idea exactly what that meant
Tupicslly, each state has one univer that is the marquee name that is the state torch bearer. The “flagship.”
Alabama in the state of Alabama. Yes there is Auburn but Alabama is the poster child for the state.
UK in the state of Kentucky despite Louisville.
My stance is that IU has lost this (we had it once) through decades of malpractice in its two main revenue sports. So much so that I think it will never recover. Too far gone. And, unlike other schools that begin heading toward such predicaments, the IU ruling party tolerates it and is slow to react. And, that strategy has relegated this school to the athletic Stone Age.

When you are minus 80 all time in head to head competition with your rival in football and men’s and women’s basketball and trail your biggest rival in Big Ten championships in those three sports 25-43 it’s good to have five banners to look back and savor!

Believe it or not, most people do not recall the USA Hockey team beating the Russians. I know this firsthand. My son played youth hockey on the same team as the son of one of the players on the USA team in Lake Placid and other parents of players had forgotten and had to have it explained to them. Just because it is prominent in your mind doesn't mean others remember it; sad but true.
That story is 100% BS

It is absolutely a fact; surprising to me as well at the time, but a fact nonetheless. It was a minority larger than I would have predicted.

Big Red…. I have disagree…. There is one state that may actually have two. 😊😊😊
North Carolina and Duke

But that’s the only state I can thing of that would be that way.

There’s that bitter old smack talker we know so well. I get it. You took shit from IU fans for a long time and today is the release valve. Congrats. You can pass away in peace next year.
I have never taken shit from any IU fans in my 25 years plus of paying to be informed about what’s going on at many schools in the Rivals, 247 and now ON-3 networks. There are a small minority who choose to stoop to being disagreeable rather than disagreeing or exchanging points and counter points. Anyway, I lose no sleep over people who choose to dive in the gutter. Hell, I am 82 and he is a high probability of being right when he wished me a pleasant trip to Valhalla. As the late, great Jimmy Durante used to end his show, “Good night Mrs Calabash wherever you are!”
