Like someone else said not all rich people are driven by greed but there's sure a lot of it going around. Just look back at the 2008 crisis when stocks dropped like a rock. Several companies/CEOs were caught trying to backdate the options they had because the ones they had were worthless . Then they switched to Restricted Stock Units which would always be worth something unless the company went bankrupt. I don't begrudge anyone who becomes rich by starting a company or making a good investment but there are a lot of people who do and want to label those people greedy.

DeSantis would likely get nearly all Senate votes for confirmation. I still think it likely Hegseth withdraws but hearings would probably be highly entertaining.

Technically speaking, the committee only makes a recommendation. Although I have no idea how many nominees have failed in committee and still been approved by the entire Senate. I bet the number is very small.

Reported by who? The way flag works is they can only continue to serve if they are put in a billet of the appropriate level. If a 2 star is finishing up his 2 star assignment and there are no other 2 star or 3 star billets for him, it’s retirement time.
