Retired officers are subject to recall "forever" in the case of emergencies. I know that's the case for the Navy though I suspect even in an emergency they're not looking at those over 60 to be first back in the fight. It'll be case by case would be my guess. I'm not sure about officers that resigned their commissions before retirement or the details of the Guard, but I'd not be surprised if Guard officers are also subject to recall even if they didn't retire.

That’s not what happened to him. And he left service, voluntarily, soon after making Major. A promotion or lack thereof was not part of the equation. He wasn’t eligible yet.

I've read about what happened according to him already. The gist is that he volunteered to be on a Guard detail for inauguration day (20 January 2021) and his unit's security officer recommended he be removed from the detail because of a Jerusalem Cross tattoo that Hegseth had which is associated with white supremacy. The Security Officer is correct that it is, but there's no reason to disbelieve Hegseth that he got if for reasons that had nothing to do with white supremacy. This pissed Hegseth off, so he resigned. I have no reason to believe his characterization of service is anything other than Honorable. A de facto blackball from service would be an Other Than Honorable or Dishonorable discharge and he doesn't have either of those. Technically, he could return to service if he desired. I have no reason or desire to denigrate Hegseth's service. Seems honorable to me.
Not to mention believing a Ponzi scheme is somehow the monetary messiah of the world.
I think the message is clear to any GOP Senator thinking of voting no.
