Like someone else said not all rich people are driven by greed but there's sure a lot of it going around. Just look back at the 2008 crisis when stocks dropped like a rock. Several companies/CEOs were caught trying to backdate the options they had because the ones they had were worthless . Then they switched to Restricted Stock Units which would always be worth something unless the company went bankrupt. I don't begrudge anyone who becomes rich by starting a company or making a good investment but there are a lot of people who do and want to label those people greedy.
It looked likely until late Friday. I still wouldn’t bet on his confirmation. He’ll get no Democrat votes and four Republicans are still reportedly leaning against. If they vote against it’s over. DeSantis would likely get nearly all Senate votes for confirmation. I still think it likely Hegseth withdraws but hearings would probably be highly entertaining.
I think he makes it. We will see. Between Murkowski, Collin’s, McConnell and the RINO from UT he only needs one.

Technically speaking, the committee only makes a recommendation. Although I have no idea how many nominees have failed in committee and still been approved by the entire Senate. I bet the number is very small.
