So what was in depth about it? I guess you somehow believed Trump's lie that he "didn't know" that the reporter (Serge Kovaleski) suffered from the exact sort of joint disfigurement that Trump visibly mocked? There are many types of disabilities that afflict people, but by some huge coincidence Serge suffers from a condition that causes your joints to draw up in the same exact manner Trump displays here?
Well it didn't exactly go down like you claim, but never fear good old "non-partisan" jet liked your post...
So here is a video and comments from people who were involved. The early part sets the stage, but if you want to cut to the action you can fast forward it to the 11 min mark...
Notice how even the fat militia guy echoes what I said about the way KR acts after the first shot (actually 4 shots at a clearly unarmed man), and why the people who started chasing him reacted the way they did. KR shoots Rosenbaum, and while people are administering first aid to Rosenbaum right behind him a clearly out of his element KR calls someone.
It's at this point where KR could have walked to the cops and surrendered- no one was even paying attention to him. But eventually people take note of the fact that he has a gun and is standing by a wounded victim, and people start yelling that he shot that guy and start to chase him. The girl (Anthony Huber's girlfriend) says how he joined in the chase, although she tried to stop him.
My opinion is that after he killed Rosenbaum, KR's actions cease to be "self defense". The people chasing him see him as a criminal who just shot someone- THAT is the reason they chase him. The self defense aspect of the first shooting can be fleshed out in court, but running (and shooting at) people who are chasing you because they believe you shot someone (when that's exactly what happened) should not be grounds for self defense.
In that case anybody could shoot anyone, and then if he kills someone trying to apprehend him for killing that person, he can just claim self defense. This is where I believe the jury got it all wrong, because there was ample opportunity for KR to walk to cops and surrender and no one else had to die. Even the militia guy seems to agree with me.
It's true that KR is not mature enough to be able to think this coherently and act accordingly. But that further points up the fact that he purposely interjected himself into a volatile situation that he was far too immature to be able to handle... That's why I think there should have been some element of accountability for his recklessness.
