Pearl on gameday.

Slob too.. put a sports coat on or something
Constantly looks like the drunk jackass at the bar jumping all around when his favorite team is on tv and he’s about to lose $10 on DraftKings.

Not saying the dude can’t coach a bit, but his sideline act is tired AF.

This next hire will be really tough for Dolson.

Not only will the guy need to be able to coach at an elite level, recruit at an elite level, and win at an elite level (better than Pearl of course...) - he'll need the approved sideline demeanor, and approved dress code.

His shadows are gone. The assets are there to make IU great again. Just need a coach
His shadows aren't gone. There's a ton of IU fans still living in the 80's. I'm not comparing IU and Purdue. Purdue has never been a blue blood. IU has. That status is historical only now. IU still manages to get higher rated talent. 3 five stars in the current roster. Does another BIG have that many? Oh and another one coming in.
I don't know if IU makes the tournament. There's talk several players won't be back. Who knows? I don't know if the portal is the answer. It hasn't really worked so far but we are fairly early in the portal process.
If IU doesn't make the tournament, will they play in the NIT? A few games left to make it happen.

get some friends, I feel bad for you.
I’m good. Thanks for your concern. Surely you’re man enough to admit the last couple years of your picks have not been spectacular. Tamar? Geronimo? X? And just today Pearl loses in an upset (although I agree I’d take him over Woody 8 days a week)? I’m not being a jackass about any of it. I’m just pointing out your picks seem to curse the pickee.

You want to know what else is tired AF? Watching a losing program for 25 years.
No doubt. Seems everyone around here is edgy about the least little perceived slight. Truth is Charley Manson could coach this team with his junk hanging out if he’d get us to a Final 4. All good.

Ok Wheels. Who do you want?

How so. Woody won one tourney game two years and got a $1M raise. He’s top-10 paid coach in the country.

He’s got the top-5 or so NIL, huge AD budget for bball, leading attendance in the B1G despite the results, a crowd advantage in NYC, and a great crowd in ATL.

Sorry you’re wrong.
You don't need to prove anything to me - I already know the truth. There's a difference between having all that and the boss's bosses that support what you are doing.

What are you rambling about?

Some old baggage too.

I would've loved if we grabbed him sooner. But Indiana didn't. Why would anyone think he'd be on the Indiana radar at all now?
I think he'd be on the IN radar, the question is: "are we still on his?"

When the IU basketball wax museum opens, LMK. Otherwise, I have no idea what you are talking about. Shadows? I have memories. I occasionally recall them, certainly I’m not living my live in the past. No one thinks a switch will be thrown, and a time machine will take us back.

If I stumbled upon a mythical Time Machine I’d be way, way too busy to give one second of thought to IU basketball.

Establishing a mercenary program is simply short-sighted...and reveals weakness in recruiting (ability and results). Players want to share their program experience with peers who can grow together. The pro game is for the mercs....right where Woodson should be. Of course the portal is the new norm...but not for the majority of your starting lineup. Believe Woodson when he says this team is still getting into its groove. He means it.

I'd love it but he has a $17M buyout on top of the $12M we owe Woody. It ain't happening.

Be specific then.

The boss’s bosses are Pam and the Trustees (led by Quinn). Which one is scaring off the coaches by not offering what kind of support?

Or is there an IU deep state pulling the strings?

I don’t really disagree that our Presidents don’t talk much about sports as a priority and I don’t see it the Strategic Plans, which leads to a lack of accountability and top down pressure to perform. McRobbie was bad in terms of not caring. Pam I don’t know but she moved with Dolson on Allen and hired Cig.

Despite the above, I don’t see a lack of resources preventing success.

Here's the solution...

I don't want Pearl. I would've though, and he could've worn sweats. Seven or eight or more years ago. I mean I'd still take Pearl over the status quo. Just won't happen. Musselman? If he could be pried away? Even he is up there in years now. We may need to go after our next mid-major try like we did with Archie or Crean.

But I know I won't worry about sideline antics much, or what they wear. I thought all the talk about 'clappy' was ridiculous. To me it's are they winning or not.

We'll talk in 12 months and we'll see who might be available. Woodson is going nowhere this year.
