Peacock Network?

What is everyone planning to do to watch the MSU game? Subscribe to Peacock? Sports bar? Listen to the Radio?

Radio (if I can bring it in successfully)... Haven't listened to Fisch and Buck yet this year so it should be interesting... I'm not double paying for a game I ought to be able to get on The Big Ten Network (on an overflow channel if they've double booked the time slot)...

This is one of those posts that identifies the age gap on this board.
Im not sure on that. I'm 72 yrs old, a sports junkie and lifelong IU fan, alum ... last year I got lucky since I am a cheapskate .. I had a deal $19.99 for the YEAR ... it expires in two weeks and the renewal is $79.99 for the year. After a year of watching ballgames on that channel the $79 was worth it to me.

My plan is Radio with the Oregon -Michigan Game on TV with the sound off. I figure I can listen with both ears and I've seen enough football over the years to figure out what is happening on the Tv Screen without sound. And Yes, I am part of the age gap difference on this question. If You would have told Me 25 Years ago that I would be this dependent on my computer for information and services, I would have told You, You were crazy. On the other side of the Equation, at my age (73 in 10 days), I don't have the technical expertise or patience to deal with trying to download things and get Them to work properly.
The alternate Plan is to take the radio and cold beverage outside with Me and during Commercial Breaks, Shake My Fist at the Clouds or Yell at Kids to get off my grass. I'm just ageing so gracefully.

I’ve had Peacock since last year. There are going to be a lot of bball games on there this year. Time to pony up!!

No more ponies in the stable...

I can't justify paying extra for a sports channel while I'm still paying astronomical medical bills (3 years of various types of Chemo & T cell therapy plus multiple weeks in the hospital [off and on]... I'm evidently paying for myself and a 100 other people who can't afford to pay anything (got a bill breakdown recently that had over a $1000 charge for "Recovery Room" where all they did was pull out an IV and put a bandaid on me)...

Digging out slowly but surely (I figure there's got to be a Pony down there somewhere) but spending any found disposable income on something I've theoretically already paid for once isn't happening...

I do, however, appreciate the fact that I'm very blessed to still be able to type these types of complaints (which makes the bills palatable)...

I can picture you doing just what you describe in the last two lines.

It's like $8/month, and you can cancel anytime. I should cancel it every summer honestly. It's a must have for Liverpool and IU sports imo. They have very little content I watch other than sports though. My pops is 78 and he couldn't possibly have setup Peacock for himself. I added it to his Roku and he still has trouble finding the games. I am not making fun of any of the older crowd complaining about this because the pain is real for my pops with all the streaming.

I hope you are doing well and I hope you keep doing well as chemo and fighting cancer is hard.

If you're in Btown, I'll come setup Peacock for you

I totally agree. I was super pissed when NBC restricted access to the Premier League after providing it for the first few years and adding the "Gold Package." With that being said, Peacock is the single most crucial subscription I have now.

I got the same Black Friday deal. I'm gonna cancel mine and see if they'll throw a discount to come back/stay. It works every year for SiriusXM, so fingers crossed!!

We have Peacock, basically, because our son is a Liverpool fan, too.

When he visited us awhile back, here in AZ, he logged onto his Peacock account to watch Liverpool.

By doing so we have it available on our TV, through his account. That works for us! 🙂

Go try and cancel. They counter offer for 1.99 a month again.

I ponied up.
NBC bought the rights to execute their plan on B1G fans.
I'm confident they actually have a penetration % they expect to get and will keep pushing good games over until they achieve it for each team.
For me that means, more ranked games get shifted for $$ grab. That is what I would do, and the corp. guys know how, believe me, I am one.
I put the rant aside as I spent about the same money to park in Tuscaloosa last week for Bama homecoming against Mizzou.

My deal is, we are ranked in Football and Hoops. I'm confident we'll see plenty of hoops and other sports on Peacock. They have a B1G icon on the site for a reason. I believe this is just tip of iceberg, which is why I caved. Go Hoosiers!

Reason BTN doesn’t have it is that NBC jumped them and took it. They really wanted it for their night game, but MSU balked at playing at night since they’ve had three or four night games already.

And NBC couldn’t do it at 3:30 because of the Breeder’s Cup. So Peacock was the compromise.

I thought FOX bought the rights to all BIG10 games years ago. I guess not.

Individual schools have the right to veto game times proposed by the networks?

When's the last time we were given a choice of game times, much less veto power???

Don't get me wrong I agree with IU Freak that this not being a night game is possibly better for us as far as not having an over the top, whipped into a frenzy, drunken, M$U crowd show up for our guys to have to deal with, so that's a plus..., but it's very curious that the Big Ten simply didn't say we have the hottest team in the country in INDIANA here and we want to keep the heat turned on high...

i canceled my $9.99/mth rate and was offered a 6 mth deal at $1.99/mth so I took it. Hated to do it for the principal but did it.

Anyone happen to know if you are able to watch a replay of the game on Peacock since I can't record it?
it's availabe but only after the game is completely over. Also, no pause or rewind features when watching live. finally, the replay version requires you to watch commercials. but they tell me it's a premium channel!

I refuse to get Peacock. Sure, it's not that much but I'm putting my foot down on all of the BS streaming crap. I refuse to get Prime, too, so I just don't watch NFL on Thursdays.

So.....it's a sports bar for me. I was thinking of just going to to the game and almost bought a ticket yesterday. Looked today, and only available on SeatGeek now. I snooze, I lose!

You’ll spend more one night at the Sports Bar than several months of Peacock!

Irrelevant. NBC will not get an additional amount out of me, only what they are getting from the sports bar already. It's not about how much I spend, it's the point of it. And, besides, I go to sports bars a lot already, it's pretty much my main form of entertainment.

I don’t like going to sports bars because I want to hear all the commentary. But if that’s what you like then go for it!
