I thought I read that we are looking for a song for our student body and crowd when our Hoosiers have another GREAT VICTORY!
Anyone remember 2007 and we needed to be PU to make a bowl? Great game and a last second FG won for IU 27-24. It was fantastic.
Players and fans on the field celebrating and carrying the Oaken Bucket! No one left the stadium and the band played and everyone was
Singing “Hey, Hey, Baby. I wanna know oh, oh, if you’ll be my girl.” It was super. I saw an old teammate Ken Kaczmarek singing and giving fist bumps.
It was a great win and the singing made it a great moment. It’s a feel good song and lyrics. It’s a great song and some great wins are on the way.
Let’s get a song. Practice your singing and let’s “buckle up” and enjoy!
Go Hoosiers!!

I THINK it's already "taken." To the extent that matters. I found this video of PSU doing it. Not sure if that's who I was thinking of though.

That's a quality song though for the purpose.

I've almost given up on the search though. It looks like they've settled on "We Will Rock You." I appreciate the pun, the ease, and how well known it is. But it screams elementary school basketball to me. And very dated as far when it was something that was played a lot at stadiums. Similarly, they've been playing "Rock And Roll Part II," I guess someone got their hands on an old Jock Jams CD.

They play at the end of wins, but at this point, I'd be open to "All I do is Win" by DJ Khaled playing between the 3rd & 4th. At least it's a nod to CCC, has a hand motion everyone (particularly the students) can do, has a catchy beat. Not my favorite/preferred song by any stretch, but it's something I guess.

Back to your suggestion though, I like where your heads at. It doesn't HAVE to be hip-hop or rock or even something remotely new. OSU does "Hang on Sloopy," your suggestion, "Dixieland Delight" at Bama. It just has to be something that is fun to sing a long to.

That 2007 PU game is one I will never forget. I was at that game and the emotions felt by IU football fans across the stadium after that made field goal were indescribable. After the field goal was made everyone was hugging each other and high fiving in my area. Complete strangers. Even with how wonderful this season has been I don’t think you can ever duplicate that moment and I wouldn’t want to. With Terry Hoeppners death that summer prior and all that was being played for that season in his memory that was THE ultimate moment in IU football history IMO. I can still remember that moment like it was yesterday.

One thing all these songs share is a packed stadium.

Last chance with Mary Jane by Tom Petty! Pat Mcafee got the crowd rilled up yelling Indiana boys on an Indiana night on Game day! IU probly wont want to promote weed though until it finally becomes legal!
The other one should be the Bob and Tom spoof song “Indiana Girls”.

Boobs a Lot
Be good if the differing stands can do a call and response:

East Stands: Do you like boobs a lot?
West Stands (Yes, I like boobs a lot.)
East Stands: boobs a lot, boobs a lot
West Stands: (You gotta like boobs a lot)
East Stands: Really like boobs a lot
West Stands: (You gotta like boobs a lot)

If we go this route, I say we try "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" (live version, or course) given the below:

1) Debatable, but isn't one of the theories being that "Hoosiers" are basically hayseeds?

2) Don't think any CFB teams use it, except for a couple MLB teams, and our own Hoosiers baseball team.

3) Easily recognizable and singable. Starts quick and gets to the chorus quick. Would pass the Kilroys late night test.

May be worth at least trying...see if it catches?

That might work. They play it during the 7th inning stretch at the IU baseball games

Nope not a fan of playing into the hayseed caricature. Doubt the students would love that either.

I enjoy the notion that “we will rock you” is dated but “hey baby” is ok… lol

Dated in the sense of We Will Rock You being so generic and played out in a sports context. Like I said, Jock Jams. But also used in the Mighty Ducks movies and even parodied in Dodgeball.

Dated, again in the context I’m using, doesn’t specifically mean the age of the song.

Same here. IU needed to win to be bowl eligible. It had gotten dark and a little foggy, so the stadium was like a luminous bowl. Wife and I had tickets to the opera and we had to leave with a few minutes left and IU leading by a touchdown. We got just outside the gates when we heard a moan from the stadium. We looked at each other and ran back in. Purdue had scored to tie the game, 24-24. Hoosiers had two minutes to get within field goal range. Finally had to kick a 49-yarder...and it sailed through. That was the peak IU football experience for me, too.

How about 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar. fast enough rock beat to get people moving and a refrain everybody can join in on, and an indirect reference to on the field activity.

If the Hoosiers are going to go full on redneck I suggest Tammy Wynette’ Stand By Your Man. It went over well in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Yes I am joking,

I've always thought that a few seconds cut out of this could provide nice lead in intros to specific situations on the field:

There's a short sequence in the *last 3rd* of this that could be a quick (just a few seconds) intro for the Offense (as it's taking the field) before the crowd goes quiet...

I have always thought that Boston's "Don't Look Back" would be a good one, or Judas Priest's "Living After Midnight". I know @DANC would agree

I'm more of a Ted Nugent "Stranglehold" guy.

I don't think "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" would pass the censor.

I would perfectly comfortable with the Amboy Dukes "Journey to the Center of your Mind". Criminally underrated.

Huge fan of the Cat Scratch Fever and Free for All albums. And Fred Bear is an awesome song from the mid 90s

I just heard the whole stadium at Old Trafford singing "Country Roads" before the Leicester game...in friggin ENGLAND!!

People love John Denver. People love John Denver sing alongs. If you don't think students do, I suggest you spend a post 2am weekend night at Kilroys and see what happens if/when a John Denver song is played.

We already use it at our baseball games. It's worth a try.

That might actually work!! Quick opening riff. Kids will all know it. Gets a little wandering after the initial open, but has potential.

Actually...this might be even better...mild open...vocal part all the kids would crack up trying to hit...guitar riff then stepping things up...then the classic chorus everyone in the stadium would know.

I think either might work.

I have spent a few 2 ams at Roy’s and never heard it. Also heard lots of songs at frat parties too. But maybe it’s a newer thing for them.

How about Kiss "Rock and Roll all Night"? Probably not the message the administration wants to send, but can You see (hear) 20,000 College Students on the chorus "I wanna Rock and Roll all night and Party everyday" especially after pounding the pavement Friday night and closing down the local Watering Holes?
