A good opinion piece from Jeff Greenfield. Not a new opinion, but I like that he tied it to Orwell who was a man ahead of his time:
Actually, the best proof that Orwell (and Greenfield here) was at least partially right about messaging and these issues was the partial success of Bernie Sanders in his run against Hillary Clinton. He has a more down-to-earth speaking style and image that the true socialists would do well to copy. AOC's Twitter-celebrity style, I think, turns off a lot of working class people and her hobnobbing with celebrities reinforces the image of a champagne socialist.
