Lots of thoughts about Indiana basketball are going through my head right now. How will IU do this year since they have...what is it...7 players we haven't seen on the court. Archie Miller's first game coaching at IU. (Watched him here in Dayton...he is intense and knows his X's and O's...gets more out of his teams than the sum of the parts, too. Will JN do a great job as PG? Will Davis get the ball and be proficient. (Hint: Archie Miller loves to get the inside some touches...a lot.) Is the pack-line defense just another spin on a modified zone? Season prediction: They get better...but it is a tougher non-conference schedule than with TC previously. I hope that they do better than being an NCAAT bubble team. I say they get a 7 seed...but what do I know?

Drinking game trigger: Every time IU jacks up a ball too early..without an attempt to go inside...and Archie Miller scowls and talks to the shooter. Take a drink.

Go IU! It's a new, positive way to enter the basketball season for the first time in a quarter century.

I think it takes a couple games for the offense to really get going. Defense seems further along....

Important stat of the game: Turnovers (better be under 10.....or I hope its under 10)

ISU was 315th in offensive efficiency last year. Knowing they are better and we have question marks........ think we apply good pressure and have good help in pack line defense. ISU avg 69 pats last year, think we hold them to 62 and our offense will get off to a slow start but will find a rhythm in 2nd half.

No clue on score...IU should win the game though. ISU wasn't very good last year, and they lost some key players. They do return Brenton Scott, who we're familiar with obviously...but I can't imagine they've brought in enough new talent to where they'll be able to hang with IU?

It'll be interesting to see how we play against a D1 opponent...and one that will obviously come out with enthusiasm and energy to be playing at IU to start the season.

If I had to guess, it'll be similar to the exhibition games...we'll struggle early on...it'll be somewhat ugly...we'll put a couple runs together in the second half to win comfortably by double digits. Who knows though?

Judging by some of Archie's comments, we may all be drunk by half time.;);)

I don't know how ISU could score many points on us with the improved defense, but at the same time I'm not sure how many points we'll score. IU 68 ISU 55
