I am really looking forward to this, I was going to go to Indy this weekend to see it but I tested positive today so I guess I will have to stream it next week.
First few episodes pull you in but there are some inexcusable plot holes and just poor writing on the back half of the series.
I mean. It’s only 7 episodes but 6 and 7 are going to make you scream at the TV.
Interested to see how faithful they stay to the book. Glad it’s a movie and not a series. Gives me hope. Usually I would think the opposite but for this the book was pretty short. Hopefully they don’t try do too much exposition.
I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned in this thread, but have you watched the Paramount series, “Evil”? I bought season one a couple of months ago and watched the 1st three episodes, but haven’t gone back to it yet. It’s pretty good in a paranormal, Exorcist kind of way.
That Michael myers line is absolutely hilarious. Especially contrasted with all the instagram memes. Let her go. Work on yourself. On and on

It has gotten very good reviews but it has big shoes to fill to be as good as the 1930 Lewis Milestone film. That film had a great supporting cast and Lew Ayres was very good in the lead role-a very memorable film. I hope this one is as good.
I don't think I've ever read as many books as I did last year. The last one is "Gone with the Wind" I know that everyone has been reading it for a long time, so I was influenced by the good reviews about it. I even want to write a short review of this book so that other interested readers can quickly familiarize themselves with the plot and want to read it too. This idea was inspired by the writers on this resource https://edubirdie.com/book-movie-review-writing I once ordered a book review from them in college, then I re-read it and even regretted that I had not read the book myself.

Ok so my 11 year old daughter has just recently recommended a couple movies. Heres one. Now for my wife and I this was hell. I had the heebie jeebies watching this throughout. It got both of us I'm literally cringing on the couch watching this.
So as I posted the above of course an ad played on the youtube. Its this. I didn't even know it existed but I'm going to watch this in the next day or two. The comments alone sold me. Some people on the WC have it in for this woman. BUT its people like her that make a difference. I have followed her for years.

Yes. The first four episodes sucked. 5 on was pretty good. Not GoT sea 1 thru 4 good, this story isn't near as complex or interesting but for common TV/streaming, better than most shows ...
Whole first season is foundational. Not great we have to wait almost two years for the story to really start flying.
Yes. You are right at the point where it starts coming together. MS directs 6 and 7 (turn the brightness on your screen up to the max, though), and then 8 and 9 set up the coming war nicely, focusing on the Greens in one episode and the Blacks in the next.
Also this. HOTD got to use its built-in fan base to do something GOT couldn't: take its time. Once the entire narrative arc is laid out, it will be clear that all of season 1 was basically prologue.
Have made it through all 3 seasons. Not bad, gets a little campy sometimes but it is worth a watch.
Worth watching IMO. Season 1 was really good. 2 and 3 are mixed depending on who you ask, but I enjoyed them all.
