I watched the Bad Seed again just a couple years ago.
I don’t watch many traditional horror shows, but scary ones for me were Wait Until Dark and Play Misty For Me.
Yes. I should have included Play Misty. Love the Jag.

Is anybody watching "The Empress"? There is supposed to be a movie about Empress Elisabeth coming out around Christmas, "Corsage" that may be better. Elisabeth was famous for her beauty, her 19-inch waist and charitable acts. I am not into the royals, but Sissi was a really big deal.

Halloween is the OG. Really created the genre and John Carpenter is just great. Annually I pay to watch it.
The Witch is on HBO Max. If you've not seen it I highly recommend it.

Robert Eggers, Ari Aster, and Jordan Peele are really redefining the horror/thriller genre. Good shit.

I’ve seen The Witch. It’s really good too.

My favorite more recent one is The Babadouk.

I searched and did not see it on this thread, so SIOP, but I am halfway through the second season of the Fargo TV series, and am thoroughly enjoying it. The two generations of the Lou Solverson character arc is great.
Season 5 with Jon Hamm someday.

Just finished the first Flashman book. It's historical fiction, really witty and veeery non-PC. (This first book was written in 1969.)

The first book was set mostly in India and Afghanistan, where the the English were routed in 1847. The account is funny, brutal, thrilling, and holds some eery parallels with the U.S. and Russian invasions.

The main character narrator is a terrible person--an admitted coward, bully, racist, opportunist, sexist, womanizer, classist, etc. But he's also extremely lucky and keeps failing upwards. It's a fun read.

He has 12 books in all, I believe, with the main character bumbling, conniving, and carousing through Victorian history.

Anybody watching Dahmer?

I feel dirty. Two episodes in. I may stop. Feels really exploitative

Yuck.

My wife got my daughter into horror movies. I hate them. Took daughter and a friend to see Smile on Saturday night. Teens must be accompanied by an adult at our local theater after 6 on weekends so I had to go too.

I sat there trying to sleep or keep my eyes closed so I wouldn’t be terrified.

Was he the serial killer who got to prison and turned out to be a real team player. Got breast implants for the guys and stuff?

I think you mentioned you hate snakes.

Have you had the opportunity to view...

Snakes on a Plane

Dunno. I do believe he got stabbed to death with a broom handle (allegedly) during a hit by fellow inmates. I hope they got an extra brownie at their next meal.

I will not watch whatever that is.
Snakes on a Plane.

B/c I'm such a caring person I did not includes any pictures.

But the dialogue is lol funny

Neville Flynn: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

[the terrified passengers on the plane turn to Neville]

Neville Flynn: I HAVE HAD IT WITH THESE MOTHERF*CKING SNAKES ON THIS MOTHERF*CKING PLANE!
==================

Ken: [throws snake in microwave oven] Who's your daddy now, bitch?
==================
Rick: You don't think I know it's hotter than hell in here? We also have abnormal vibrations in engines one and two. I had no choice but to throttle back.

Neville Flynn: You slowed down?

Rick: Yeah. Well, you know. It's that or option B.

Claire Miller: Which is?

Rick: I go faster and the engines seize up; We eventually plummet to a horrible death; They spend the next year identifying femurs.

Apparently, Jeff was shaping his food into likenesses of people, etc. and then eating it, which didn't sit to well with some of the other inmates.

One of the few cases where my unwavering hatred of the death penalty was put to the test.

Others:

McVeigh
Pedophiles
Spree killers (though most take care of it themselves)

Never seen it. Waiting for the version where the snakes are edited out.

With the upcoming SAS series on Epix and possibly through Prime coming up, I found a three episode documentary called SAS Rogue Warriors on Prime. First episode was interesting if you're into this subject.

Rings of Power is an abomination.

Regardless of the accusations of it being woke, or purists accusing them of completely butchering the lore, neither matter because the lazy and horrible writing completely kills it ..

Its characters are shallow cardboard cutouts. The story itself can only be described as f*cking dumb. Neither are developed even in the least. It basically makes season 8 of GoT look like a masterpiece.

These guys are from the Jar Jar Abrams school of filmmaking and it shows. Paint by number tropes shuffled into scenes, void of any creativity or originality.

Relative to the money spent vs end product received, it may be the worst show ever made. It's not even interesting enough to hate watch.

Stick with packages Jeff ... cancel this MF.

House of the Dragon tho….

It’s got legs. We’ll see how the showrunners move forward with the somewhat jumpy timeline but I think they are just trying to set a solid foundation for what’s to come. Really solid show so far. Goat had mentioned something about liking the internecine conflicts and hooo boy the last episode delivered.

Lines have been drawn. But we’re gonna get several more layers to this before the Inevitable battles begin.

I just saw the Oscar winner for the year in the film The Whale, imo. Brendan Fraser puts on just a stunning performance. Don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Saw it at a film festival so I don’t think it’s full release until December.

Great stage play. Looking forward to the film.

Just binged watch The Bear.

Worth a watch. A lot of single shot camera work which really elevates the tension in the kitchen like some action movie! The storyline itself is intriguing

Since it's October, I've been reliving some old horror movies and anything else that looks remotely interesting from a horror/scary movie perspective.

The Watchers on Netflix.

Sucks.

You're welcome.
