Yep...or attempt to control the flames by publicly backing him. Obviously he's not making it, or shouldn't make it, past the few days after the season is over. But everything is telling me Dolson needs to address this.

-If you've decided you're going to fire him, for certain...

1. Do it now.
2. Vote of confidence, to control the flames a little bit...do it at seasons end

-If you still have some indecision, or don't have the backing of the people you need to have to fire him...

1. Vote of confidence, shows strength and if you end up keeping him, for whatever reason, it amplifies that strength.

-If you're certain you are keeping him at seasons end.

1. Vote of confidence is then genuine.

Sitting back and allowing the whole thing to burn the next 6 weeks, in my opinion, is not a good idea.

how about Woodson announcing his retirement at the end of the season? if he took the high road would people still boo him? I guess some would but I would suspect most would be happy with that and be gracious. this season is basically over everyone knows it

I was getting ready to post the exact same thing. If I’m Dolson and I legitimately wanted to fire Woody last year, there’s no way in hell I’d take any heat off Woody or Buckner or anyone else who pulled the power play on him. Screw every single one of them for perpetuating this garbage on us. Woodson has exhibited both a lack of class and integrity. Or any sense of self-awareness. So he won’t announce anything like that.

How about Dolson actually just tells the truth? “Our program isn’t anywhere close to where we want it to be. I’m not happy about any of it, but it will get fixed. There have been factors at play that have hindered our desired progress. Those will be addressed as well. Better days are coming. Stay strong Hoosier Nation!”

Well, I hope that isn't the case any more. We don't need Jerry Jones/James Dolan like leadership right now. We need Brad Stevens like leadership. Who the hell even owns the Celtics? The fact that we know these fellas names is absurd, to me. And a huge part of the problem.

I might be way off, but aren't the Reinsdorfs and the McCaskeys both very involved in the daily decision making though, including hiring and firing of key personnel?

Towards the end of last season there were reports that literally everyone on that team was leaving. Trilly Donovan, whoever TF he is was saying even Galloway was going elsewhere. Who knows?

I will say that Mgbako has looked pretty detached for a while now. Watching him at the Miami O game and Woodson was really laying into him. At one point, Woodson pulled him from the game and he walked past the bench and headed up the tunnel. A couple players headed back there a couple minutes later and eventually, they came back to the bench. Just seemed like MM was pretty unhappy.

Hey at least we had some generational improvement when Dollar Bill kicked and Rocky took over. McCaskeys don't ever die so we're gonna suffer with that for eternity.

My wife is now sending me "Fire Woodson" memes...

That says two things...1)its out there now enough that its breaking in to my wife's algorithms. 2)She said she assumed it was getting better since I hadn't been venting about it in a while. So my apathy has been impactful. There's nothing worse for a fanbase, than apathy. Obviously I don't have true apathy, or I wouldn't be here posting about it. But as I was sitting on the tarmac Tuesday night, the fact that my flight was delayed taking off was exponentially more annoying to me than how awful our team was playing. They are who they are. There isn't going to be any sort of Epiphone. We'll win a game or two that will surprise, but we'll lose more coming home than we win. And there will be more blowouts.

Dolson needs to either cut him loose now, or publicly back him and say he's behind him 100% "right now" as Indiana's basketball coach. It will take some attention off the program, and it should lower the temperature a little bit for the next few weeks. It will, probably, move some of the ire squarely towards Dolson, and the BoT...but that's part of being a leader of a huge organization like Indiana Athletics.

We have 13 regular season games left. 6 of those in Assembly Hall. If left completely alone, I'm not sure how Woodson and the players will effectively manage their way though to the end. The noise, the memes, the mood on campus, its gonna get really bad.

I think its time for Scotty to be a big boy on this one. One way or another, step up and take control of the narrative.

Woody needs to announce he is retiring at season’s end and encourage the IU fans to support the team the rest of the way. Lower the temperature, ease the tension and pressure on the players and salvage what you can of the season.

The only thing that really matter now is the coaching search
