Josh Harris visiting next week

Hopefully he doesn't make it down to Miami...

This fella checks a couple very important boxes. He's not necessarily THE rim protector we do still need, but hes young, and very capable, and has good length. He would help with post depth, and provide a multi year big.

Get this kid, a rim protector, and maybe another incoming freshman/multi year guard... and on paper, CDD will have done an incredible job building a competitive, and balanced roster. He already has, but there are a couple holes yet that he could fill. This guy helps with one of them...rim protector, younger backcourt guy for continuity next year...

This kid had some very impressive stats. Of the 9 transfers + him, he has the the highest PPG per every 40M played (23.8, v. 23.5 for Wilkerson), as well as the most rebounds per every 40M (12.5 v. Alexis at 11.6. Next highest, Bailey at 7.3). He also shoots the highest % on 2s (.584 v. .578 for Conerway). He is relentless around the basket and likes contact.

I think there are two questions about him: 1. How does his game translate to BT competition? I think this is a legit concern, because he really is not a high flyer. He reminds me of a couple of guys Wisconsin had back in the day; and 2. How does he fit with CDD's plans? 89% of his shots are 2s, most of which are within 7 feet of the basket. That said, he's not someone like our BSU kid that has zero outside shooting ability. He shot 70% on FTs and .333 on his infrequent 3s, which isn't bad for a freshman.

It seems as though if we take him, the final spot goes either to Curtis or a rim-runner like FF if an acceptable one can be procured.

One other thing I mentioned earlier.......I think Harris fits pretty well with Bailey, because they can do some high low. At Davidson Bailey handled the ball a lot at the top of the key. So Harris could add some interior presence to a line-up including DeVries, Wilkerson, and Enright (as an example). He's possibly a better fit on O than Alexis in such a scenario.

Sounds like one of their transgressions back then was not paying enough attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion. These days, they would get a prize for that.

I know he’s from Florida but if he picks Miami over Indiana,he’s not a good fit here.

From the "tape" I've seen on him...he sure seems like an "outside-in" type big. Meaning, not a lot of traditional posting...much more face up and go, and then offensive rebounding and finishing. I would think that style would jive better with DeVries system than if he were more of a back to the basket, traditional big. ESPECIALLY if he's also a decent passer, and adequate ball handler. I don't know if DeVries uses a lot of "pinch post" type actions, but Harris would probably be really good in that position if CDD does. As would Bailey, for what its worth.
