That’s interesting that IU has the #1 rush defense. I would assume the ranking is more related to the fact that most teams are having to abandon their run game to try to come back once our offense starts clicking and starts scoring at will and I believe that’s where UM will struggle against IU too because they are not built for a high scoring shootout. I do think our run defense is good though and the improvement of this team over the course of the season has been amazing and noticeable even if final scores of earlier games were comfortably in our favor. I remember moments being very frustrated and worried about our defense and I haven’t felt that since NW. I think if we played NW again the blowout would start earlier.

The perception of IU compared to Michigan is what trips up many people. This is a game IU should handle Michigan like they have MSU and Nebraska. I am sure the coaches and players sill approach the game like Michigan can beat them but IU will win.
