UConn is missing Newton badly. Their current PGs aren't near his caliber.Watching UConn vs Memphis on ESPN 2. Memphis quickness and length giving McNeeley fits. I haven’t seen him play much but he looks awful today.
Orlando 1 a perfect fit.I did not know coach mike davis is assisting at Memphis
Hurley's stupid game plan pounding the ball into Reed cost him the game. As soon as Reed fouled out they erased a double digit lead. Dumb ...Hurley tech cost UConn the game
Hurley is Izzo on steroids.Hurley deserved that tech. Kudos to Memphis for playing clutch throughout the OT.
I mean zero chance we would have landed him if we were in the last 15 years before woody. Woody has got more players here than anytime in my life. They just need to hit this year. The “stars” from HS, and college awards the guys on our team have earned is insane.Would of loved to see him in candy stripes one reason can't wait for Woody to be gone.
Woody has the advantage of top-5 to 10 levels of money to pay players. Our previous coaches didn’t — we sure weren’t near the top of under the table cash payments.I mean zero chance we would have landed him if we were in the last 15 years before woody. Are you sure about that? Troy Williams, Noah Vonleh, Thomas Bryant ...Crean would have been pretty good in the NIL era. He landed some good recruits straight up without the NIL crutch.
Coming off the Sampson debacle we were pretty clean. Nothing like the other big schools. Are you sure about that? Troy Williams, Noah Vonleh, Thomas Bryant ...
Uncle Boo!!! Hell we cheated gettin hanner. Crean was bad at it mostly. Our current staff is primed for it. They really need to cash in on the talent this year!!Are you sure about that? Troy Williams, Noah Vonleh, Thomas Bryant ...
We weren’t all clean.Coming off the Sampson debacle we were pretty clean. Nothing like the other big schools.
Tom wasn’t great, but he was operating in a different world.
We weren’t all clean.
Yea I said pretty clean. Our NCAA probation ended in 2011, which included all sorts of rules compliance training/reporting, and getting caught during or right after that would be some serious trouble with the NCAA + embarrassment. We weren’t all clean.
I'm just glad we self reported to the NCAA.
Really worked out well for us.
20 years later, Sampson is a perennial top 20 coach and what he did and what we self reported isn't even illegal anymore.
We don't have much to cheer about those 20 years, either. Turd City.
My pet peace argument ….. “not even illegal anymore”. Dumbest argument evrrr!!! It’s the ADVANTAGE you get because others can’t do it. It’s like saying two of are shots would be three pointers now so really won that game in 1985 based on the rules today. And Im not talking about IU. I don’t even know what Sampson did for sure. Just hate that ridiculous argument.

should not the punishment fit the crime? the death penalty over something, again, that was no longer illegal just a few years later?
we didn't cheat on grades, pay players, pay handlers, bribe AAU coaches, etc.

I'm never been for or against coaches that I believe to be jackasses but if I and Hurley were in a bar, and he did anything to annoy me, I would knock him out.
Self-reporting something trivial like excess texts/calls, which is the equivalent of going 1 mph over the speed limit, was not a good move.should not the punishment fit the crime? the death penalty over something, again, that was no longer illegal just a few years later?

In all fairness, Mcneeley hit 2 straight 3's to help put it in overtime.Watching UConn vs Memphis on ESPN 2. Memphis quickness and length giving McNeeley fits. I haven’t seen him play much but he looks awful today.
I'm forever grateful that Hurley and UConn whipped Purdue last year, but it's about time he got T'ed up and had a game go like this. He's gotten way too full of himself and caught an awful lot of breaks the last couple years. Based on his comments in the post game press conference, some discipline might be coming his way.
