Not even you are dumb enough to believe that.

No one is.
Your statement reminded in of a clip from All in the Family....

Meathead in response to something Archie said: Nobody can be that stupid
Archie: Oh yes I can :) :)

They're the FBI. They know a lot more than people who don't want them to know things hope they know. Haven't you ever watched CBS primetime?
No but I've been watching episodes of The FBI on Roku. I love to watch shows like that.

I just wonder if they have informants close to Trump... wouldn't surprise me.

I don't know what's going on, but if it's the most simple explanation, they don't need anything covert. They know Trump didn't turn all the documents over, so they got a warrant to go get them and prove it. Easy Peasy. This isn't a spy thriller. It's a guy who took proprietary docs home from the office.

Nonsense. Talk like that is purely conspiracy theory bs. Also Ray Epps is not a Fed and never was.

But someone has to inform them that he took home documents don't they. I've read you have to have pretty good information to be able to do that... not just "I think he did". I have a friend that just retired (FBI agent) and he's told me the same thing.

They already tried to get all the documents back without a raid. Trump returned documents twice. And he still didn't return all of them, apparently. What is DOJ supposed to do at that point? Ask nicely again?
They could follow due process, get a court to order the return of the documents and wait until any legal appeals are exhausted.

There are no Biden flags or Biden bumper stickers because there is no Biden cult.

Those things generally don't get displayed for any candidate for any office, unless in the heat of an election campaign.

But Trump is der Fuhrer to you, so I'm sure that your pickup truck is well-decorated, as is your yard.
The Fuhrer analogy is appropriate given the release of the conversation agent orange had with general Kelly. FYI he asked Kelly why his generals couldn’t b as loyal as def Fuhrer’s generals. Kelly had to educate agent orange that his generals attempted to assassinate him 3 times. He said that didn’t happen. Obviously agent orange didn’t pay attention in history class.

And the FBI would NEVER falsify an affidavit regarding Trump, right? LOL

When you have already tried to get classified documents returned and they say they have returned everything but someone close to agent orange says otherwise then a subpoena does no good because he’s already lied about returning documents. Also, a subpoena gives him time to move or destroy the classified documents. We will know more in due time. But if the documents are not itemized in the subpoena then they r likely so sensitive for national security reasons that they can not b made public. A federal judge determined that a crime was likely committed. End of story. Anybody ever get worked up when a mob boss’s home was searched by the FBI because of probable crimes? Didn’t think so. Some just can’t see for their blind loyalty to agent orange.

All during the summer of love I heard all of the Trumpswabs assuring us that if you just don't be a criminal, then law enforcement will leave you alone. Why can't your orange God follow that creed?

Criminals always believe they’re smarter than law enforcement. Our prisons r full of them.

They know he took the documents because he already admitted he took the documents and returned some of them. This isn't complicated.

What if they have reason to believe documents are being destroyed?

Haven't a couple of those informants already testified publicly before the Jan. 6 committee?

There’s a part of me that still feels like there has to be more to this than retrieving a couple boxes of documents. You don’t the need heavily armed FBI agents to achieve what could be achieved civilly, especially when it’s a former president.

I’d like to think the DOJ isn’t so dumb as to not realize how bad this looks.

If they are that dumb, they’re in for a world of hurt.

I think there’s more to this than what we know now.
Always is.

Wonder how they know what he has?
If there is anything classified in those boxes than there should be a record showing the chain of custody. That's how it's supposed to work, but who knows how it works in the Trump White House? We've not had a President and White House staff that seems to be less concerned about protecting classified information than this one.

I'll bet it's more complicated than you are acting like it is. I would guess that presidents always take a lot of documents but I don't know that. I have no idea the procedure of moving out of the white house. I know when I've moved and other people are helping it's not always organized like I would have liked it to be.

Look, I am not trying to make excuses for Trump, I'm just interested in how it all came about. Personally, I hope they have him by the balls because I can't stand the man, but I have a feeling that it will never amount to anything like everything in Washington.

You mean like this?

Since the photographer had the foresight to take photos as evidence, I wonder if anyone arranged to have the actual pieces retrieved by police, secret service, FBI, etc.

It's not complicated at all. They already know he has documents because he says he has documents. I don't understand why you are trying to make this something other than it is. If the question is how they found out he has documents, it's because it's already public record that he has documents. They don't need a spy.

I was listening to Robert Barnes today on the Duran. He's usually spot on. He thinks this was a deep state raid. Basically Trump kept certain things that would make them look really, really bad if it ever came out as insurance if they ever try to indict him. Possibly related to Assange or Snowden and why Trump didn't pardon them. They were in his opinion looking to see whether Trump had the goods or not.

Worth a listen.

it's not like anything more is needed to help them look really really bad.

they've been doing a fine job of that all by themselves for quite some time now

The fbi would make sure they had a solid case before doing anything. And the head of the fbi was appointed by Trump. If facts matter to you

And a judge (outside the fbi) had to sign off on it. Yea, they are all corrupt lmao

How Trump has people believing that all these random people over the years are the ones that are corrupt is crazy. Most of the people being employed or appointed by Trump himself

Yep. It’s complicated. Just cuz a piece of paper is in a box from the White House does not make it subject to the Records Act

There is a legit question about who makes the call under the statute. The DOJ took the matter to DEFCON 1 because it could.
