I LOVE cupcakes in September!! Hopefully BT will go back to No Divisions and 8 games, not 9.

Good fruit. Two really simple things you can do that seem like no-brainers:
1) From now in schedule 3 home wins for the non-conference schedule. No Cincinnati. No Louisville. Schedule cupcakes. Collect wins and pass go. Even if you beat Cincy or Louisville people are still going to say you didn't beat anybody so to heck with it. Lean into three cupcakes. Don't bother with Ball State. They have all the motivation in that match-up. If you just barely beat them people still gripe. So just don't do it. Even with divisions going away every time you lose a non-conference game you have to win an extra league game to get to Bowl eligibility. Increase your odds by as much as you can. Every time you make a Bowl it's extra practice, extra experience and extra exposure. Oh but Cincy is close, what a fun regional match-up. Horse crap.
2) You got the LED lights, do a light show at the night games. You see others teams having fun with it. Not doing it just makes it seem like you won't even bother to pick the low-hanging fruit.
This years schedule has 8 teams that went to Bowls along with another who went to the D2 playoffs...Should only schedule 1 cupcake a year! Being that when USC/UCLA and whoever else merges and these 2 unequal divisions dissolve we will still have too tough of a schedule. We could play OSHt/Mich/PSU/USC/PU/Iowa/WIS/Min/ Mryl/Ill/UCLA all in 1 season! All are bowl teams this year!
Just give me purdoo's schedule every yearThis is great in theory but find me 3 B1G wins yearly.
No but it helpsDumbing down the schedule doesn’t build a program or make our team better.
Not sure that’s really the case. It might marginally improve our record but we won’t compete with the big boys in the conference. No but it helps
Iowa did it to perfection through the years. Minnesota is currently on better ground as IU is currently because of this strategy. At issue is trying to run (with the big boys) after you walk (relying on weak schedules to smell success). IU has never been able to this; will they someday be able to do so and achieve continued success? I don’t know, but winning the occasional Women and Women First Bookstore Bowl is better than going 3-9 every year. Not sure that’s really the case. It might marginally improve our record but we won’t compete with the big boys in the conference.
You need to get some easy wins non conference. Your conference schedule is already tough enough. Not sure how you figure getting 3 wins , developing confidence maybe being healthy for conference play and maybe even getting some more guys playing time is not helpful. Not sure that’s really the case. It might marginally improve our record but we won’t compete with the big boys in the conference.
