Look for X to be dismissed.0

Anyone watch the YouTube discussion between Jim Coyle and Bob Kravitz yesterday? They both thought that X should move on.
If he remains on the team there will be some sort of zero-tolerance provision. How did that work with RMK?

I think a big thing in this whole situation is that no one really knows what happened at NW, but there has been a tendency to assume the worst given the punishment. If NW was more just an overly harsh punishment for a minor issue, and Johnson was otherwise not having other issues behind the scenes, then I don't think Johnson will really need to be put in some zero tolerance policy

Zero tolerance never seems to turn out well. The risk you run is if you bring him back he is supposed to be a leader. If he screws up after say 15 games and you have to boot him it would really mess things up imo with him being a point guard leader. Certainly a risk to bring him back but what do I know.

agree that a zero tolerance policies are not a good idea, however, we don't know everything and if such a zero tolerance policy should even be considered under the circumstances which we are not fully privy to.

Because he did his work earlier in the day like 12 hrs before this happened.......you really expect him to be shooting jump shots at 3am?
He is an IU basketball player. I would expect him to be with some hot coed getting his rocks off. It was a fing joke. I bet your a blast at 3:00 am.

If he was driving on a suspended license, they are gonna give him a ticket for it. They need it on his record so if he does it again, it will be eacalades later. Driving is a privilege, not a right, so having a license is something that is taken seriously by officers (my uncle is a cop, he let me know when I slipped up about my parking tickets).

He would have been ticketed for no license if he didn't have one. If Monroe County wasn't concerned with giving out tickets for no licenses, no one would ever worry about paying their tickets. See how idiotic that sounds?
I was a prosecutor for 10 years. I know how they handle these cases. Go believe what you want, but I deal with cases like this regularly, and what Ive described is accurate.

Not all cops are the same, so even if your uncle writes every ticket available, many do not, especially when a felony is getting charged,

He choked the poor girl, my b.

Again, super heart warming how IU was able to look past this!!!
No, but we understand your need to stretch to that conclusion. IU punished him for what he did rather than blaming the victim as you fine folks did. You must be so proud.

Again...you don't want to go down this path as you lose...badly.

We have a zero tolerance policy for drugs in the military and it works pretty well.

This might or might not be fair. But Xavier was one of the players who was suspended for the Northwestern game. dump it down to them and run things through them talent outweigh his flaws? Also what effect does having him continue on the team have for the other players? All of this has to be thought out. To be honest I believe Xavier's position as point guard has something which has to be weighed in. The pg is a leader on the floor. Does Xavier really have the credibility to be a positive influence on the other teammates?
"might not be fair"
"All of this has to be thought out."
"I believe"

Translation: Noone really knows, but here are some questions and opinions anyway.

Oh, come on now.

A definitive drug test is perfect for a zero tolerance policy because of the automated computerized drug testing. It's either positive or not.

I'm not sure there is an equivalent test to confirm the various descriptions of Johnson's bad driving decisions. In fact, some people on this board think that the little crossover between College Avenue and Walnut Street (where the two face statues are nose-to-nose) is part of historic ""old State Road 37".

With imprecise descriptions like that in police reports as to matters of simple geography, maybe a no tolerance policy is less appropriate than it would be for a ban on use of specific drugs.

Might as well shut down the board then, or limit it to verified IU coaching staff only, if that is your critera for participation. Everything else here is questions and opinions.

I drove past that little crossover road yesterday as a matter of fact, and there is a street sign there that says "OLD IN SR 37" (no I did not take a photo of it).

If Woodson allows XJ to remain on the team he’s very likely going to be on a very short leash. I’m sure XJ expects it too.

You have this thing nailed. Monroe county loves probation fees.

Dimensioned like a 12 ounce beer can.
You bet,

So as a thanks to the board for surviving yesterday's downsizing why don't you be a sport and tell us your thoughts about the (at least) two incidents of vulgar FU chants at mackey this season?

You were rather animated with us after the "sloppy seconds" chant at TAH.

You owe us this much.

Link to verification of organized chants? Paint Crew doesn’t play that way. I’d be surprised if there was any organized vulgarity like we heard at IU.

I think it’s a conference rule to arrive the day before no matter what time the game is or how they are traveling there. In case of bad weather or plane/bus malfunction, I think they want a lot of time baked in so games are delayed/postponed/canceled which would screw up TV contracts
Makes sense. Plus I think they get a practice time on court, don’t they?

You will see chatter among pu fans about Dickenson and then the F IU chant was clear as a bell.

IU has seen vulgar chants (we tell the truth) but not sure what you mean by organized.

You don’t really have to organize the IU sucks since you say it every game, every concert, etc. Right?

Yeah, that’s the equivalent of organized IU fans sing songing sloppy seconds at an opposing ball player and the prior racial taunts IU fans engaged in.

You’re not at all the person you have convinced yourself you are.

Organized enough that it came through clear as bell on my television, so much so that my young daughter asked what that meant.

Even though Mackey is the loudest area in the nation, no one heard the chants you claim to have heard.

Lol

I see you have adopted the Bobinski deny deny deflect stance on all issues.

maybe you should have been a part of the downsizing.

It’s business 37 from 69 to the bypass. Old 37 turns into lower cascades which looped back to college/walnut. That’s the OG 37.
Yep, the park is about the only thing there and you definitely can get away with that there most times, but not 3am, and you definitely can get lost in the side roads there even if you're a cop, he should have just done that, shut it down for 5, just gone off trail, and they would have never caught him, you can easily get lost back there, but a long trip home is better than getting busted. He's a kid though and not from here and probably panicked, but that would have saved him if he knew that.

Maybe, but he's also the best guard on the roster. Did you not watch our offense without him on the floor this year?

It was awful. I don't want another year of rebuilding, it's time to start winning. After the step they took this year this program can't afford to go backwards.
Good God People… a 20/21 year old kid got caught speeding at 3:00 in the morning ran a Red Light because he freaked out about being pulled over by the Police and some of you People want to treat him like a Serial Axe Murderer. PLEASE tell me how many people on this site hasn’t done something this Stupid when you were 20/21 years old… Get Real…!!! Your wanting to Ruin a Kids Life for this ??? If this is the Only Stupid Stunt this kid pulls on his life time he’ll be just fine..

That's not where, I know exactly where based on description. There you would definitely have to be on something to try that, but that's not where, turn right a Mickey D's and that's where and maybe why he thought he could do it

He would have been just fine if he knew what those side roads were like out there, you can get really lost out there and they'd never find you without a helicopter, not even many residents that live there know how much other than to get home. He should have just pulled back there, got himself lost and figured it out later, they would have never found him, but you're right, he's a kid and panicked and didn't know what to do

I got 2 when I was his age. Dad. Good lord man. So I was selfish and immature at 21. Good grief. This wouldn’t be news if it wasn’t for all the Boomers in these boards.
And look how you turned out….
