Rick Scott is a moron. His “plan” is basically the script for a sequel to Idiocracy.
Ok and that very well may be true, or not true. I would have liked to have heard his plan on a show where he was supposed to release it. Hell, he even brought a book to give to Laura as a prop (so it seems). There was more conversation at a kindergarten parent teacher conference.
2 and 3 are the biggest two. 1 will not happen. 4, 6, and 7 are a mixed bag of some nice and some enh but none of them should be a focus right now in a plan. 5 should be done at local level.
2 and 3 are fine. The wacky stuff is not in the above list such as sunsetting ALL federal laws every five years, requiring Congress to reenact all them every 5 years. Can you imagine what that would be like?
A mess. Although there is some merit in looking into some of the things the government reflexively funds every year. And I know we are supposed to do that each year with a new budget but I don't think it really happens.
Did he walk back his "tax everyone" proposal? Ya gotta love it when the guy who oversaw the largest case of Medicare fraud in US history, complains about poor people not paying taxes and claims everyone should have "skin in the game"...
