Those ABC telecasts with Jackson and Vitale were pretty darn good, IMO. Of course that's when Vitale's behavior was much more professional and he hadn't gone full clown mode yet.

That IU-OSU hoop games was my freshman year- and Damon's, too. He had 30+ points that day.
Vitale said something like "Won'tcha come home Mr. Bailey!?"
That game was a classic, even though we lost. Jimmy Jackson was silky smooth.
And Keith Jackson was excellent doing college hoops broadcasts, too. Hardly any of his "tribute" articles mention him calling college hoops games, but he was fantastic.

Jimmy Jackson was so good that I used to fantasize that he came to IU. He's got my respect because he knew how to play the game the right way.
