Kanon Catchings

This is the entire point. Some PU fans, not all, continue to give Painter a total free pass on a terrible NCAAT resume. PU has tried the same plan and style since Keady, and it flat out doesn't work in March. PU literally just suffered the worst loss in NCAAT history and possibly sporting history, and some PU fans are still like "Well, he does well in the Big Ten sometimes and beat Archie Miller." After 18 years of Painter and 44 years total, who gives a shit?
As long as they finish ahead of IU even occasionally...the fanbase is satisfied.

Painter has acknowledged his issues, be curious to see how he addresses that. His style to play through his best player is a pretty solid style though. I think it's a personnel issue more than a style issue. Needs more athleticism. He's sacrificed that imo.
Fine to play through your best player but when you have no back court, it is tough (and dumb).

Keep doing the same thing for the next 44 years and let me know how it goes.

I'll be honest. I don't think the "style" issues are Painter issues. It's a problem the B1G needs to address, and address asap.

The way that B1G games are officiated totally play into the style that Painter, and Wisconsin, has adopted. You have to succeed in your conference first, right? When Illannoy and Iowa have done the same, Garza/Cockburn, they have also had B1G success. However, none of this has played well in March Madness. The conference, which thinks of itself as the premiere conference, has not produced a champion in 23 years. And, just two in the last 34. Further, they have only been in the Championship game 9 times since 1989. That's 9 out of a possible 68 opportunities or 13%. That's poor.

The ACC reported that they are looking at change due to not being as successful with landing teams in the tourney the last few years. Is the B1G brass savvy enough to do the same? Or will they continue with their arrogance.

Even IU needed more athleticism this past season, hence, one of the main reasons why they struggled at times was losing X. His quickness and defense was sorely missed. Imagine if IU had him at PG and allowed JHS to develop as our 2-guard. Great back court along with an AA big man. Probably still wouldn’t have been enough to make a long run in the tournament, but I bet they would’ve made it difficult for Purdue to win the B10,
A guy like JHS would have made a huge difference Purdue. Not many teams can hit that perfect combo year in and out, but you have to have the chance to hit and get hot. Painter failed that. He's acknowledged that. Does he act on it? Stay tuned I guess.

There is also this, but look at uconn and Purdue. Similar styles, totally different players in the system. So the question is, does uconn win the big ten in the current physical state? Do they finish top 4?

...now come on...you girls know how important GOOD guard play is...our PG was out with a broken foot for most of the year...what caused your guards to play piss poor...UFD owned your boys...the whole damn game...17>1
and you finished 3 games behind us.

it was not difficult, we won by 3 games, sorry about your injuries, recruit better.
