Kaiser announcing Sunday…

Willard took Seton Hall to like six consecutive NCAA tourneys. Maybe Kaiser thinks he will do the same thing at Maryland. Plus, I think the avenues to play right away are there at Maryland and probably less likely or much more competitive at IU. Who knows.

Getting down to the crunch time here. Really running out of options on some wing oriented players. Really hope cutting Carr loose at the expense of chasing some better "shooters" doesn't come back to bite the staff. Still need a big as well. Staff probably all-in on Page with Booker's recent decision.

At IU his comp for playing time would/could be .. TB/TG/JG/KB/CG/AL/JN.

IU is loaded at the 2/3 spot. He may sit for two years.

His comp at Maryland .. Ike Cornish, Noah Batchelor, Ian Martinez, Hakim Hart.. they have immediate time available.

He may not be a starter right away but he's no doubt getting minutes.

Huh?? You don't know I was talking about gradman's poor attitude towards IU? I gave the same response to him when Booker announced for MSU and he came out negative.
He could have at least waited till the announcement:
If for no other reason that my weekends go too fast as it is, so it’s a pretty big buzzkill to think it’s already Sunday afternoon 🥁

My bad .... will edit.

Apologies.

Sorry buddy. I’m just telling you what he is saying

Well, I don't know what the decision will be, but the Hoosiers have also made the final cut for fellow 4-star W DeShawn Harris-Smith, who's final 5 consists of: Indiana, Maryland, Villanova, Xavier, and Penn State. I'll also start a different thread on this topic.

As posted before here in this forum, here are links for both of them if you want to read a thorough breakdown of their games:

It's not like we need him to fill an open position or anything. IU is pretty well stacked at every position for 23 except post. Convincing a player to come here and sit ...

These recruiting sites like to string us along but ultimately a vast majority of signings can be predicted simply by looking at available playing time especially for top 100. The major exception are local players. and programs that have huge amount of clout.. do we? Not yet.

Woodson did well last year but expecting players to sign when the roster is deep AF, and they have 5 6 guys that could play in front of them.... that's a tough sell.

Plus he may buck the trend ... most likely not .. but ya never know.

Even Duke can't really stack recruits, players do look at potential PT. At every school. Plus, the player's ego comes into play as well. While the vast majority of recruits are not really prepared to play major minutes as a freshman at P5 schools, the top recruits all think they can and should. We need look no further than Tamar last season or Lander the year before. Neither were ready physically to play as freshmen, particularly in the B1G. Yes, ocasionally you do have players who can, but generally speaking they come to college ball with at near college level physical attributes.

IU has two freshmen with the physical potential to play some this year - Reneau and Hood-Schifino. Gunn and Banks are probably more like Bates last year - neither ready physically. Kaiser will get a bit of a rude awakening if he starts playing appreciable minutes as a freshman without some major physical development between now and then. Cupps faces a similar road, Newton maybe not as much. Page, who looks like the big most likely to sign, is nowhere near physically ready for the B1G.

I think some of these kids may not see how valuable a guy like Cliff is for their futures. The NBA looks hard at whether guys will be able to stand the physical grind when evaluating players. I still wonder what Lander was doing for two years to develop himself physically, it looked like not much from my view.

You're the same kind of DA that would yell at Tony Gwynn for only getting a hit three times out of ten. You really are a pathetic troll.
Your comment made me think of my Dad. He loved Ted Williams and got a lot of joy watching Ted back in the day and to hear Ted talk about hitting. Dad also loved Tony Gwynn and his approach to hitting. Thanks because I love my Dad.

No biggie. Woody has barely been on the job plus Dane Fife screwed us over big time. 2023 will be fine and 2024 could be insane. Remember, the transfer portal is a yearly lottery as well. If IU has a good year then things will be great recruiting wise
What exactly did Fife do? All I heard was saying negative things about Woodson. If he was bad enough it might be career ending. Did he land somewhere?

Did you miss our too 10 class in 2022?

Fife didn’t get picked up by anyone. Rumors from MSU is he pulled dumb crap before bolting to IU(probably was going to get canned). He constantly did things behind Woodys back, talked bad about NIL on Twitter(and to recruits), talked about politics(he’s crazy right winged) after being told to shut up, offered a scholarship to kids before Woody approved. His closeness to Dakich and other insiders got to be a problem as he was complaining to them woody wasn’t listening to the assistants. When all along it was woody not listening to him. Bad fit and since nobody has heard from him it’s probably mostly all true.

I am right wing and left wing. Depends on the question. But I dont force it down somebody else.

Everyone wants to be well liked in their home community. Some kids aren't as adventurous as others, being afraid to step outside their comfort zone. It works both ways with us and everyone else.
Seems like it had more to do with PT, but if he grew up dreaming of playing there, that's a strong incentive.

I'd hoped we'd get him. Really liked his football background!
