Julian Lewis will be at Michigan Game

I'll make a wager Tayven wins the job. Since he's just one guy against many in the QB universe I'd want small odds, maybe 3 to 2 ?

Tayven has the ability. If Cig and Sunseri are whisperers, as touted, Tayven will be ready. Unless he's not got 'it', which is a cross between feel and knowledge. It's true there are even some first round NFL quarterbacks who don't appear to have 'it'. But with good coaching, Tayven should be ready.

Cignetti hasn't seemed sold on Jackson from jump street. What is Jackson missing, experience or something else??t than Rourk. Only has to learn to make the reads properly and on time.
Cig said early on that he was intrigued to see what they could do with Jackson. I think he likes him, just wanted more experience. We will see next year. Jackson has much better feet he just needs to learn to make the reads in time.

Jackson makes the wrong read over half the time; Rourke probably makes the correct read >80% of the time.
Jackson throws a prettier ball, but he has no idea where it's coming down.
If coaching can correct both of those, he has a shot next year. If not, he ain't it. I'm sure the coaches know already.

There may be a different (not JuJu) HS QB flip possibility (not a 5star), but again, I expect a portal QB also. I wouldn’t count Tayven out, but the best QB will play, competition at the most important spot isn’t a bad thing. Steel sharpens steel as they say

With this kind of season happening, I don't worry about who IU will bring in. If Lewis doesn't buy into IU then we will get a very good QB in that class.
A potential flip is Colton Gumino, 6-2, 195, dual QB who is committed to UCLA. He's from a western Chicago suburb, Arlington Heights, Ill. & having a fantastic senior year with other majors showing interest. He has yet to visit Indiana but that will change.

Reported for several days now but Michigan is supposedly flipping top QB 5-star Bryce Underwood from LSU.

Michigan's academic reputation is the deciding factor.

Hahaha... No, supposedly it was for 5 million bucks, but that was yesterday, now the number reported is 10 million over multiple years. Wow. High school kids turning instant multiple-millionaire. Good for them, but it will be wild to see what ends up sustainable. I can't see an end to it, courts have spoken, will a salary cap hold up?

What would Tayven get, without having played much? Sorsby got $250K they say.

Not definitive, but I want to say that when TJ played the 2nd half vs. NEB and we were in mop up time, that he was warmingn up to potentially go in while CHerry was not. I've heard others say Cherry has been passed too, so I guess it's maybe just conjecture on my part.
This could be a game of "who's on first", but I'm pretty sure Cherry was the first QB to replace TJ in that 77 pt game. Regardless both freshman probably have a while to get on the field.

I remember his first game. He was spectacular. The biggest waste of such a special talent, never even made a bowl game.
The last season for him wss 2001. We got off to a terrible start and lost the first five. Then we got rolling and won five of the last six, but needed to win all six. One publication had us in the top 30 and the last half of that season we played like it.

Yeah, I believe that was the year Cam tried to play Antwaan at WR and ended up switching him back to QB part way through the season. I was actually on campus as a student during those years.

Well, why wouldn’t you take one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in NCAA history and change his position when you have that gunslinger Tommy Jones on the bench? 😂… I could be wrong on this, but I believe Tommy Jones had a career completion percentage below 50%.
