Julian Lewis will be at Michigan Game

I'll make a wager Tayven wins the job. Since he's just one guy against many in the QB universe I'd want small odds, maybe 3 to 2 ?

Tayven has the ability. If Cig and Sunseri are whisperers, as touted, Tayven will be ready. Unless he's not got 'it', which is a cross between feel and knowledge. It's true there are even some first round NFL quarterbacks who don't appear to have 'it'. But with good coaching, Tayven should be ready.

These extra practices should help Tayven. Hopefully we put away the boilers early and he can get another half of game experience. By fall next year he will be over 18 months under Cignetti. I think the improvement will be there.

Cignetti hasn't seemed sold on Jackson from jump street. What is Jackson missing, experience or something else??t than Rourk. Only has to learn to make the reads properly and on time.
Cig said early on that he was intrigued to see what they could do with Jackson. I think he likes him, just wanted more experience. We will see next year. Jackson has much better feet he just needs to learn to make the reads in time.

There may be a different (not JuJu) HS QB flip possibility (not a 5star), but again, I expect a portal QB also. I wouldn’t count Tayven out, but the best QB will play, competition at the most important spot isn’t a bad thing. Steel sharpens steel as they say

Jackson makes the wrong read over half the time; Rourke probably makes the correct read >80% of the time.
Jackson throws a prettier ball, but he has no idea where it's coming down.
If coaching can correct both of those, he has a shot next year. If not, he ain't it. I'm sure the coaches know already.

With this kind of season happening, I don't worry about who IU will bring in. If Lewis doesn't buy into IU then we will get a very good QB in that class.
A potential flip is Colton Gumino, 6-2, 195, dual QB who is committed to UCLA. He's from a western Chicago suburb, Arlington Heights, Ill. & having a fantastic senior year with other majors showing interest. He has yet to visit Indiana but that will change.

Not to disagree with you, but to me Tayven just needs more experience & confidence in play-progression which comes with being #1.
Jackson appears to have the physical requirements but lacks the mental. That should, could come with experience, time will tell.
