I REALLY like Indiana's chances in the CFP. With Rourke at QB, Indiana is going to be a very tough out.

This week's game is critical because it's absolutely a must win.
Lets be honest, I think IU needs to win every game all season (including post season). I think one loss vs OSU, shouldn't eliminate us from the playoff but if we lose to OSU and finish 4th in the conference standings (after tie breakers)......I don't think we make the playoff.

So really, we just need to win every single game from Sept through the end of January.

I agree; and that's even more incentive for Cignetti to run the table!!!

Will be an interesting weekend. OSU plays at Penn State. If PSU wins, then OSU is sitting at 2 conference losses. That puts Oregon and PSU on a collision course for the B18 title game most likely. If IU end with 1 loss to OSU, they are the 3rd team in the conference.

Yes, IU would finish 3rd and ahead of OSU in the conference standings, but OSU's cache and head-to-head win against IU would almost certainly be enough for OSU to get in the playoff ahead of IU

And if somehow we pull the upset and beat OSU? 3 undefeated teams, wonder how tiebreakers would fall

Just did the math on this, and IU is currently tracking 3rd in the tiebreakers.
1. Head to head results - not applicable since none would have played each other
2. Record against common opponents - still tied since all are undefeated.
3. Results against common opponents from highest to lowest record - still tied since all are undefeated
4. Conference win percentage of opponents - this will most likely be the deciding tiebreaker and IU tracking 3rd behind Oregon at 1 and PSU at 2 - To close the gap, IU will need NW, Neb, MSU, and Mich to finish the season strong, and have Illinois, Wisc, USC, and Minny to stumble

To be clear, I think we beat OSU. As long as Rourke is back and fully healthy, his long drives keeps our defense fresh and he scores pretty much every time we get into the red zone. Last weekend we ran it on the goal line every time because it made the most sense but with Rourke the playbook expands. We wouldn't hesitate passing it on 3rd and inches. To me, this MSU game is a -6.5 line without Rourke. With him I would genuinely put IU at -19.5 (me, not Vegas). He is able to impact the entire team when he is in by keeping our defense on the sidelines and rested.

But, one game a time...blah blah blah.

I saw a guy on tik TOK that does a top ten every week , based on two offensive stats and two defensive stats ( sorry I don’t recall exactly what they were). But IU was Number 1 this week for the first time. Pretty cool to see.

Yes, we must root for OSU to beat PSU on Saturday. We must then continue winning and run the table to get to the BT Championship game in Indy!!

I'm all in on a BT Championship and chasing a national championship!!! At 8-0, the whole state should be!!!

I don’t like O$U’s chances against PSU this Saturday, but really hoping O$U pulls out the win so we can then beat them, win out and get to the BIG championship no argument.

Is Drew Allar playing?
That’s the question. He suffered an injury to his left knee in the 1st half against Wisconsin. He came out after halftime in a big brace and determined he couldn’t go. He is listed as a game time decision for this Saturday. It’s a tough spot for PSU either way. If he plays, he could have greatly reduced mobility. If the backup goes, you have the inexperience factor against an elite defense. I think OSU’s defense could cause real problems for them in either case. OSU is a 4 point favorite on the road right now.

Also surprised to see Minnesota as a 3 point favorite on the road against Illinois.

Even if Allar is healthy, PSU's offense has been pretty meh in conference games this year

That’s why I think they may go with the back-up who looked very good leading that comeback at Wiskyburg (how’s that for a NoVertical-ism?) in the 2nd half in a very difficult environment.

BTW, I don’t recall seeing NoVertical post on this historic season. Hope he’s okay.
