Seems like the usual for exhibition games where we will have 4-5 players out but hopefully not needed. (Carlyle, Tucker, Galloway etc). Just going by Woodson's weekly talk.

Indiana 89
Marian 54

Ballo 11/14
Rice 18/7 and 5 steals.

NO Injuries! please.

I predict there will be plenty of bitching (cough @bsmitty08 cough) if IU doesn't make 20+ three's and declare this team "STILL CAN'T SHOOT" regardless of the final score.

Hopefully some single post sets, move the ball, players keep moving, open 3s. A kid can dream.

NAIA exhibition games don't get me too excited.
They have a little guard on their team that's really fun to watch. Obviously should be a very lopsided game, but he might make some fun plays. Gus Etchison, I believe is his name.

I would think we'll win by 30-40.

is there enough of a friendship between Mike and Pat that we don't run up the score in the 2nd half?
normally I would caution the fan base that an early exhibition game will be closer than anyone expects. but we did just beat UT at their place. so anything goes.

damn, had to look up "Marian college basketball coach". didn't know that.

It would be great to see Newton.

I’d also like to see Bryson for the first time, and hopefully see Carlyle getting more comfortable.

Totally pumped to see Newton and Tucker to see what they look like defensively and in transition on offense.

This game, like the buy games, is where Ballo exceedingly earns his NIL by being hyper efficient on the offensive end imo.

Metrics ftw.

We have a really great group of young men this year. I thought last year's collective personality was soft. I don't see that in this group. I really root for Carlyle and I think he needs to have the ball in his hands to be at his best. What a problem to have. Mgbako and Goode need to split time between the 3 and 4. Galloway and Tucker can play all 3 perimeter positions. Reneau the 4 and 5. It's also something that scares the he'll out of me. Our staff has a half a dozen games to get some rotations solidified and I don't have a lot of trust that at any point we will look smooth. If he would come out once and split the bigs to start with let's say Reneau, Mgbako, Galloway, Carlyle and Rice I would feel better.

If the splitting of the 2 bigs happened,it would be Reneau off the bench, and Ballo starting with a similar 4 to what you mentioned. I feel that way for a couple reasons. 1. Ballo was recruited from the portal and got a lot of $,and people don't want to have their $ on the bench(I'm sure Reneau is getting a chunk of $ too). 2. Reneau is more versatile, and having him with the "2nd group" would be more beneficial offensively with backups, who typically aren't as offensively inclined as starters. 3. Playing against a backup 5 would (in theory) do more to keep him out of foul trouble than playing primarily against the other teams best big,and if this is something they want to work, they need them both available. 4. The best shooter (to this point) on the team will come off the bench. Reneau would almost certainly garner a double in the post against back-up bigs, leaving Goode open if it is constructed correctly. He is one of the best passing bigs in the conference on the high low,so in theory finding an open shooter should lead to open shots. Jmo. I think we will see this, but probably not to start a game.
