Israel under attack from Hamas

Her nurse is a 60 something Indian nurse named Doris. She picks this week to be sick with JEWISH in big bold letters outside our window

Can’t. Stop. Losing.
Indian cougar, then?

Muslims have now attacked and overrun the Israeli embassy in Turkey, the British embassy in Iran, US embassy in Lebanon… Iraq and others are next.
Clearly they are budding liberal democracies yearning to breathe free! This on the heels of Biden being spurned by Jordan and Egypt.

It might be time to restore order. Look for Hezbollah to launch a significant strike in the coming days. Biden/ Blinken are inching closer and closer to having to use American military assets. Do they have the stomach?

These Arab countries are weak and uncontrollable. The world should just remove any relations, including Western goods and services.

The infuriating thing is the standard we hold Israel to that we don’t expect of any other country.

If Mexico launched an attack into America that killed 40K Americans I doubt many here would give a crap about how many Mexican civilians were killed on the way to toppling the Mexican government and dismantling the threat.

Yet we expect a level of precision from Israel that we demand from no other country at war.

It’s a mild manifestation of anti semitism.

Every other twenty something, single bitch in Chicago is a nurse. That, or a teacher.

Like Brad said, they’re fun, hard charging partiers. Usually pretty dumb, some with substance abuse issues, not who you want to raise kids with (or even taking care of you for that matter). But it seems like you’re done with that part.
Yeah. Bet this is one or in nursing school.

No, I suppose you're right. They can't let these considerations weigh on their operational decisions (just as they can't let their considerations of the hostages weigh on them, either - I wonder why we haven't heard much discussion of that sticky wicket?), but I do think they need to care, in the sense that they need to be deeply aware of how this conflict is going to have what you call "long-term implications." Eventually, it will be over. Israel will "win," to some extent, whether or not they succeed in actually getting rid of Hamas. And then they will still be looking out at an endless wall of neighbors who are naturally suspicious-to-hostile toward them.
Not one of those neighbors is holding back on attacking because of Israel’s past actions, or how humanely they’ve conducted their business, other than they found out they’d get their ass kicked If they tried the Israelis. The first day any of these nations think they can defeat Israel without the US stomping them, they will attack. The notion that they’re holding back for any reason other than that is harbored only by someone who doesn’t understand the history, politics, & stated objectives of the players.

Shrapnel destroyed 80% of the hospital and killed 500 people? That's hard to believe.

Edit: NM that thread is hard to follow but I think I get it now. Other rockets must have been involved.
I read Israeli explanation as shrapnel/rocket failure fell into ammo storage area near hospital

Did you see some missles or warplanes that we missed?
No, but something blew up that hospital, and I really doubt it was shrapnel. I know one of the linked Twitter accounts concludes it must have been an Israeli interceptor, but I don't see how we can possibly draw that conclusion. I'm just saying it had to be something explosive. I shouldn't have specified other "rockets." Could have been any explosive munitions, or even something that isn't actually a weapon. Hell, it's a hospital. It could have been oxygen tanks.

In the past two years, I have spent 15 days in hospital..
There were about 5 staff members that were solid 7 or higher...only one married..

Not dumb at all.

But they were adventuresome....

I had to have a catheter put in earlier this year. They know their way around a penis.

My experiences with nurses have all been a great time. Lovey ladies. I disagree they’re dumb. Almost all of them have been intelligent, but with a wild side.

I had a Foley, and got into bladder spasms after about 5 days...it was put in after they anesthetized me. The hospitalist wouldn"t take it out....'you would not like it if we had to put one back in.."

I took her word for it.

BBC reporting that IDF has named Palestinian Islamic Jihad as the culprit. Not saying that's any more trustworthy than Hamas naming the IDF, just throwing it out there for completeness.
I heard tonight Israel says they have drone footage to prove where it came from. Even if they do everyone will stay in their lanes on what they believe.

I also had a Foley and they did it 4 times over 6 weeks. It was just as bad as it sounds.

Some guys have to do it themselves. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that.

I had a late customer that had spent the last 40+ years designing Urinary catheters. He would test out his new concepts on HIMSELF... sadly he was working on what I would call totally industry changer when he passed and I have not noticed anyone else picking up where he left off.

I don’t think of it as antisemitism. I think of it as people thinking in terms of oppressor v. Oppressed where the richer, more powerful group is automatically the oppressor.

Yep. America and Europe should increase oil production and tell them to f#ck right off. Do you mind convincing the climate change zealots into more fossil fuels?
Would switching to EVs make us less dependent on the Middle East?

I’m not sure. A quick google search said whatever powers the grid is what it is used. I assume if we started producing more Nuclear it would make us less dependent, but for some reason it’s doesn’t seem to be a priority in the U.S. and Europe.
