Israel under attack from Hamas

Honestly, it doesn't matter. Everyone is already going to believe what they want to believe. People supporting "Palestine" were denying burned babies and humans even with photos available. Everyone claims it is AI fakes.

Truth is dead.

Sure it does. Nothing will change Rashid'a POV, but events like this have a big impact on many people are aren't as one-sided on the topic. In other words, plenty came out in support of Israel and its right to defend itself because of the gruesome murders of Israeli and other civilians.

I, admittedly, won't be changing my stance, even if the IDF is determined to be responsible, because this is literal war. But, there are probably quite a few people who will start to ask for restraint again.

Yes they are in conflict. A lot of Palestinians are going to die as a result of Hamas’ cowardice.

Peace is not the objective of Hamas. When Palestinians have a new governing body Israel can negotiate with, then such things can be mentioned.

In your attempts to find nuance, you are invariably the most ignorant person on this board. Long on posturing, invariably short on nuance and details.
I bet you’ve called at least 10 people the most ignorant person on the board. I guess if you do it from a different name every time, it doesn’t count?

To be clear, there are no reports that it was a Hamas rocket. There is speculation. There is an important difference.

Hopefully that speculation turns out to be true. If it was Israel, it won't help their cause internationally.
Israel doesn’t give a damn and I wouldn’t either if I was them.

If they lay down and let Hamas rape and burn the entire population, Israel will still be condemned in the United Nations.

Why should Israel care what anyone thinks except the US which they need?

It matters a great deal. If you think the Arab-Israeli rapprochement of which the Abraham Accords is a key part is the best path forward for stability in the region, then it's critically important that Israel not be seen as making a mistake like this. Saudi-Israeli talks are reportedly on "hold" now, and they will stay that way for many years if Israeli starts blowing up hospitals.

There are idealogues who won't care what the final explanation is. There are people who will blame Israel no matter what the facts end up saying. There are others who will blame Palestine no matter what. But the context of the conflict is far wider than some partisan hacks howling from the sidelines.

This time it doesn’t matter who asks for restraint. Is restraint going to stop Hamas from butchering Israelis again?

I don’t think they should particularly care, but if (key word) they did bomb the hospital and cause those casualties, it quickly turns people off to supporting them and their objectives. It matters the most in Europe because the US is firmly on Israel’s side and thus far, Euro support has been great compared to prior conflicts.

Just as important, Israel already denied the claims and stated the IDF wasn’t conducting strikes at the time. So, if it comes out they lying, it would be a crushing blow to credibility, which is obviously in its favor, currently.

They need to do what they need to do from a security perspective. But we are talking long-term implications. It’s a Muslims vs Western society conflict at the moment. If that changes, it’s a big deal. But, to Stolls‘ point, they cannot let that impact their objectives.
No, I suppose you're right. They can't let these considerations weigh on their operational decisions (just as they can't let their considerations of the hostages weigh on them, either - I wonder why we haven't heard much discussion of that sticky wicket?), but I do think they need to care, in the sense that they need to be deeply aware of how this conflict is going to have what you call "long-term implications." Eventually, it will be over. Israel will "win," to some extent, whether or not they succeed in actually getting rid of Hamas. And then they will still be looking out at an endless wall of neighbors who are naturally suspicious-to-hostile toward them.

It's been going on for centuries. It used to be called The Crusades when it was Muslims v Christians. Now it's Muslims v Christians, Jews and the secular world.

Rashid'a is just pissed because she isn't what they look forward to in the afterlife, or the current life for that matter. She's why they LOVE their camels.

BBC reporting that IDF has named Palestinian Islamic Jihad as the culprit. Not saying that's any more trustworthy than Hamas naming the IDF, just throwing it out there for completeness.

You know you are in a good neighborhood when you have multiple terrorist groups you can point the finger at....

Later on they had a gov't spokesman on blaming Hamas. It sounds like they don't have any intelligence on the matter. He explained it as a deduction based on:

1. IDF was not carrying on airstrikes at the time.
2. Hamas was.
3. Hamas claimed a long-range rocket was headed toward Haifa, which never arrived.
4. 33% of Hamas rockets land in Gaza.

He expressed confidence that they will eventually be able to prove it was Hamas.

I highly doubt the Lapid is willing to put his career on the line in the name of propaganda.

Israel is a Democracy. They have JAG officers, military oversight and military courts. They are more than capable of policing themselves on these matters. Our government and the rest of the western world needs to stop lecturing them on the rules of war and avoiding civilian casualties.

How many western leaders would lecture Obama (aka the Drone Ranger) when he would accidentally blow up a wedding party?

Lastly, stop seizing on every Palestinian death as some sort of vindication that Israel should not seek retribution.

Tlaib needs to be expelled from congress yesterday.

Interesting. I’ve heard of these type of women. Gainfully employed. But they’ve been as elusive as Bigfoot
Every other twenty something, single bitch in Chicago is a nurse. That, or a teacher.

Like Brad said, they’re fun, hard charging partiers. Usually pretty dumb, some with substance abuse issues, not who you want to raise kids with (or even taking care of you for that matter). But it seems like you’re done with that part.

Yeah, that’s not my experience with nurses.

If mine were that fun, I wouldn’t be on here.

Muslims have now attacked and overrun the Israeli embassy in Turkey, the British embassy in Iran, US embassy in Lebanon… Iraq and others are next.
