His hair was less stark white, but he never had much and it was light colored then with grey. His beard was a bit more salt and pepperish, but he kept it short.
Mine would have to be Mrs. Rect. I think her first name was Dixie. Anyway she taught sex education and really helped build my arsenal. I had no clue what the Portuguese Breakfast was before being introduced to Mrs. Rect and it’s now my go to move.

I was walking around campus like a zombie my first few semesters at IU, but then drugs and sex gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. I'm married now, but still occasionally do drugs. lol.
Yes. I had him for Ancient Philosophy (Fall 1991) and German 19th Century Philosophy (92 or 93)(Hegel, Marx, Neitzsche).
I watched that then saw a vid from YouTube from some guy trying to teach law students about law school, how to do it well, etc. Guy said you had to study 60 hrs a week in law school, and even then you might not get As. Ridiculous.
I don’t agree with that 60 hours. If don’t get how to think more study won’t help.
When I studied law and took the bar, there were no multiple choice tests. Now there is for bar exams. I don’t know if law schools allow them or not. Multiple choice exams change learning. I do know that many law schools have moved away from the strict Socratic method. The ABA had prosed a standard that property law perpetrated racism and economic discrimination. I don’t know if that was put into effect. That is absolutely wrong. The proper way to approach the issue is ask “does property law promote economic discrimination “ and then drill down on that question with a good Socratic teacher.
We don't agree on much, but I'm with you here. Race based concerns need to be replaced by socio-economic measures that will by their very nature impact blacks more heavily than whites.

I don’t remember the name of any K-6 teacher. I only remember my wrestling/boxing coach, swimming coach, and Spanish teacher from 7-12. Learned much about leadership from them and it served me well for my military and civilian careers in positions of leadership. I remember the names of only two professors during my undergrad years. None except my Thesis Advisor from my first postgrad degree and only one from second too. That guy taught military history and was great at it and I love history. I remember what many of the others look like, but that’s about it.
School was easy all the way through and I could make a B with minimal effort and an A with just a little more. Mostly I could read the text book (or skim in many cases) and get at least a B on every test. I didn’t always go to class and often paid little attention when I did unless the class required interaction. I usually read or skimmed the texts in class so I wouldn’t have to take books home. I had sports and work to do after the school day (7-12), other activities in college or grad school and girls - until married, of course. I did get a few Cs at IU due to skipping a few too many classes and not doing much studying. Sometimes partying took precedence.
So this is probably why I don’t remember many of their names. Plus I’m bad with names.In high school a buddy asked why I didn’t take books home and I said I wasn’t going for a perfect GPA, just the highest GPA per hours studied. That doesn’t show up on the transcript, but I might have had that.

Still see my swimming coach just about every year. My high school has an invitational swim meet every year named after him. They also recognize him and all the former swimmers just before the diving competition. The coach moved to Texas and coached for years there winning a butt ton of state championships. Was an Assistant Coach on one of the Olympic Water Polo teams and is in the Texas swimming hall of fame. Great guy. Unfortunately, he had a fall while visiting a former swimmer in the hospital and suffered some brain trauma. I don’t think he recognized us at the next invitational. Sad.
