There's no putting the genie back in the bottle. In years' past it would have ended under caution, as would be appropriate. But they've hooked fans on a "final shootout" at any cost. So it's going to be manufactured drama moving forward.

Once they threw the first red flag with 14 or 15 to go it kind of set the stage for the next two. Hindsight being 20/20, they should have continued extremely slow under yellow to get it cleaned up in 10 laps and have one natural attempt at green flag finish.
