Ugh, I hate the qualifying gimmicks that go on now to make fake drama.

Indycar decided on the fly you can’t change chassis today? WTF? (In case you’re in the dark, Rahal wanted to change chassis last night…Indycar denied it. Illot changed chassis 2 days ago.)

Please, go back to 3 strikes against a car. Make the runs matter.

So where does everyone sit? We have 8 tickets in the SW Vista closer to turn 1. Have been sitting in these seats for 22 years straight.

I’ve always liked Rahal. He’s nothing like his Dad. I’m happy for him. I really hope he leaves RLL next year.

Rahal has to shift from Honda to Chevy

Lots of wheeling and dealing to get sponsorships in line, I'm sure.

The irony is he's ending up in a better car. He owes Harvey a beer for bumping him.

I remember when Foyt still built the Gilmore Specials in Houston … and Gilmore Oil sponsored the happy hour telecasts On broadcast television … today’s spec. chassis lacks the romance of doing it yourself.
Totally agree and one of my biggest Indycar gripes. At least nascar uses different front ends.

Have 2 in E stand since 1996; top row in the sun just after the penthouse ends. Love those seats. Can stand up on my seat as much as I want without anyone to complain. However, I now have a five year old who loves racing so I had to pick up three together so he could go. Splurged on paddock penthouse right across from pagoda because I think he will love seeing pit action and pre-race ceremonies from that spot.

24 Hours to green flag …. After the obligatory flyover …. And back home again in Indiana.

Weather will be warm but not too hot.

Only negative … the Purdue Marching Band.

Yea great day man overcast almost till the end. Watched the first 50 laps, went for a great walk by the pagoda, and snake pit, wife and daughter stayed at the truck while I went back to watch the finish, crazy man. Love the 500, nothing else like it.

I did the infield and sat in the middle of the 2nd and 3rd turns. Today was the first time I've been to the 500 since I was a kid. Didn't get sunburnt, which is a minor miracle. Scantily clad females were nice. Saw a lot of PU folk, so I was kind of disappointed that I didn't wear a Fairleigh Dickinson shirt. Really nice day and experience: 500 is special.

Missed the grandstand

This is that lady that owned the car. I think Roger should buy her a new vehicle just based on her effing awsome raceday outfit.

Hard to be an Indy 500 at my age and not appreciate all the guys who raced sprint cars while winning multiple 500s Foyt, Rutherford, Unsers, Jones, etc...

Great documentary about Stan Bowman, who beat all if them in sprint cars.

Yeah, it was Alice. And the line was "Kiss my grits," not bricks. But yeah.
Yeah, I was ad libbing for the situation; "kiss my bricks" just stirred up that memory.

Hey, give that IMS President credit. The tire f's up her car and he winds up getting her down on her knees and kissing something. Sounds like boyfriend material for her!

And just to set the record straight. Jewel's was far from the best rendition i have heard but hardly "disrespectful" and one hell of a lot better than Steven Tyler who screeched and rewrote the words.
