Lol. Yes arming teachers is a great idea. You know, that same teacher who left the door open ? Arming teachers is not the solution. Teachers are leaving in droves already. Add firearm experts to the list and see how that goes.

I swear to god every gun owner I know, I wouldn’t have known that they owned guns if I hadn’t gone to the range with them, they weren’t my family, or I hadn’t been to their ranch. It’s not a character trait.
I did have one buddy in Texas that never kept his locked up and would bring it in the car. I always gave him shit for it. Stupid.
I probably have dozens of other friends/ family/ acquaintances that own one and I’ll never know.

Yes let’s blame the dumbass teacher. Not the shooter. Not the fact 18 year olds can buy this type of weapon, not the person who should have called in the lockdown, not the police who ignored the children screaming for an hour. Blame the teacher who should have been thinking a mass murderer was headed her way after the awards ceremony. She will have enough guilt on her own .
Lots of people who argue for restrictions on guns are "gun owners"... The Right hates David Hogg, but he actually grew up in a family that owned guns and made sure he was aware of how to use them. To protect their home... That doesn't mean he should have taken one to school that day in Parkland...
Before you would allow them to be armed they should have to be willing to pass a psych eval, a firearms training course and an emergency first aid course... Along with a blind evaluation from their peers as to their responsibility and reliability...
If we lose teachers because of this I'd say good riddance..., we'd be losing the right ones... Most likely the very type who think the protocols are silly and the rules don't apply to them and would be the very ones who'd leave the next door open because their personal convenience is more important than protecting children...

According to reports, Robb did NOT have an armed resource officer on site.
As I have posted before, the Uvalde school system has its own police department with a chief, detective, and 4 officers for 10 schools (I've heard it's 8 schools, but I found 10 listed on a website).
So there are armed officers but not enough to cover all the schools all the time.

How dare you? The teachers are in there laying their lives down for their kids, this time because the police were too afraid to do their jobs. Every single school shootings have found teachers going to heroics measures, literally shielding students with their bodies . Shame.

Is it banning all semi- auto rifles? If so come out and say it. It might make a tiny dent and make some of the mass killings dip a bit in magnitude
I hear a lot of bastardization about what current background check laws currently are in the name of “do something”. Truth is background checks even more stringent background checks aren’t stopping these mass killings that we’ve been seeing with AR style rifles.
Something we all know but are unwilling to say is these types of gun deaths hit us especially hard because the victims are children. The deaths of the dozens killed everyday in a gang turf war or even adults who are victims of similar shootings don’t seem to affect us as much.
I agree that the innocence of children is sacred. There is something truly unnerving about seeing a young life, sinless, untested, and ready for the world being stamped out before they even have a chance.

It’s the people giving CNN the information that are not reliable. You haven’t noticed the stories changing the last three days from the governor, police, etc?
So you're equating people complaining about police shooting unarmed people with the failure of police to take action against a killer who had fired at witnesses, prior to entering a school and barricading himself in a classroom? Pretty sure none of us liberals have complained about any actions that cops have taken to subdue or deal with people who actually posed a threat to those cops.
There's quite a difference between mistaking a cell phone for a weapon and shooting someone, and officers standing by while a deranged killer murders kids with an AR-15. There's no inconsistency in complaining and feeling both are wrong.
The 11 yr old girl who covered herself in her friends blood and used her dead teacher's cell phone to call 911, recounted that the teacher received an email warning her about a gunman being in the school.
She went to the classroom door to secure it, and the gunman was standing there and basically backed her at gunpoint into the room. He then cold bloodedly shot and killed her, and then turned the weapon on kids in the room, as if he wanted to kill everyone...
He then shot his way into the adjoining classroom, and the little girl who was lying among the bodies of her friends reported hearing screams. She played dead by smearing her friend's blood all over her body, fished the phone out of her dead teacher's pocket and called 911. She talked with 911, assumed the cops would arrive shortly, but never realized that they were out in the parking lot and were aware of the ongoing shooting the whole time...
And any errors that we've made regarding whether there was a SRO on site, the fact that he walked around the outside of the building for about 10 mins before entering the school, or new accounts that he actually fired at witnesses outside before walking into the school is all attributable to the fact that Texas DPS have been extremely unreliable with the accuracy of the info they have provided...
