I think that's a good assessment. If you think about it, it's pretty remarkable how Vance was able to thread the needle here. He went from calling Trump 'America's Hitler' to being his VP elect.

This reminds me so much of a man that was once active in our local industry. I knew him a bit before he died, but only after he was retired.

The stories of him setting up and filming liaisons with honeypots, using threats and blackmail, etc. are legendary. He walked with a cane that was also a single-shot .22

I wonder what did happen to that thing. He’s been dead for about 15 years. I asked him about it one time and he confirmed what I’d heard. He had a daughter…bet she ended up with it.

I also heard he had a double-wide that he kept at his river camp. There were peeping holes in a divider wall. He would stage live sex shows and charge admission. Apparently his wife was a common feature attraction - in a cuckold kind of thing. Bill didn’t participate, he was in the audience.
