I am hearing some rumblings on other social media sights, dare I more than hope that

Larger (D1 level) US campuses I have visited. I am a chemistry professor so I get invited to give research talks / seminars often.

IU
Purdue
Northwestern
Ohio State
Pittsburgh
Cornell
Dartmouth
Columbia
Yale
Boston College
Boston University
Virginia
UNC
Georgia Tech
Emory
Florida
Florida State
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Kansas
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UC San Diego
BYU
UT Austin
UT San Antonio
Baylor
Rice

Maybe I am missing some.

The most beautiful campuses will depend on when you go (ex. Bloomington or Dartmouth in the fall). In general though, in terms of buildings, walkability, layout, nature, housing, etc I think the prettiest are Cornell, IU, Dartmouth, Virginia, UNC (in no particular order)

Then in terms of what the city has to offer, I guess it's up to what you want. Plays, music, bars, restaurants? Schools in cities with good public transport also have some appeal to me (Boston College, for example).

I may be a bit biased, as an IU grad, but IU always gets a mention in rundowns of most beautiful campuses.

I omitted small schools, since it's not relevant to D1 recruiting, but some of them are very scenic & compact (Wabash College, for example, my undergrad alma mater).
Colorado, Harvard, Virginia, Pepperdine

LOL, nothing like standing shoulder to shoulder with rich strangers wearing ridiculous hats and clothing, all losing their minds over horses running in a circle. I'm sure Wilkerson loved it....
seem to be enjoying himself, I was in the same room with him and pope and a few assistants, I guess. he's not 6 5

It’s the spring meet. It’s like one giant tailgate with chicks in sundresses. Not to mention rubbing shoulders with million/billionaire donor types. He might’ve looked awkward but he was thrown opportunities. You can count on that.

Yeah, did you see the pic? Not sure he could've been more uncomfortable. Like taking a preacher's kid to a bar mitzvah on your recruiting visit.
Probably a risk on Pope's part taking him there. But some of the conversations he likely had with some of the money people that frequent Keeneland...the fact that he hasn't yet committed to UK is a good sign, overall.

Like the first handful of "key guys", I'm moving on to the next key guy...which for me, are Conerly and maybe Overton. If we happened to get both those guys, I can honestly say I don't really care what Wilkerson does. As landing those fellas would erase the symbolic nature of losing Wilkerson. He's not THAT good, or he wouldn't have been at SHS in the first place.

That sounds like setting up a concession speech, and maybe it is. But I think getting a really good, two way, lead guard like Conerly, and a swiss army tool like Overton, with a guy like DeVries already penciled in the lineup, is more impactful than another shooter/scorer would be.

Obviously would love to get all 3 though. And that's still a possibility as of typing this message.

Keeneland is most fun for tailgating in the shady lots and the paddock area. Other than that it kindof feels like a county fairground track to me...but being from Louisville it's no Churchill Downs.
Seriously doubt it would be a difference maker.

Down to IU and UK. Some UK people are confident its UK. Making decision at any time now.
I’m getting tired of bad news. We’re past due for a pleasant surprise, something to get excited about next season.

BTW, any additional up “dates” with Brad Bomba’s brown-fingered surprise? Is Steve Alford still mum with the thumb? As if IU’s basketball woes in the won-loss column aren’t distasteful enough, we have this sexual predator accusation casting a shroud over our once squeaky clean program. A tainted finger, soiled, points in our direction and I don’t like the smell of it.

Well if chris the troll says its not looking good that means we will land him so I expect good news

Are people complaining about players visiting other (big time) schools because they might now pick us?

Come on... those are the ONLY battles we should be in. If we're going after somebody that's not getting a lot of attention, more times then not, there's a reason and it probably won't work out well for you if you get the kid.

Bill Self said it best... if you're hearing yes more then no, you're recruiting the wrong kind of kids.

I think we're all just hoping we have super elite home run hitting recruiters.

But I agree with your point. It's like now I'm seeing football offering and being in the mix for good recruits 'top 5' , which we will miss on most of them. But it beats offering and still not seeing ourselves on their lists.

Honestly do you sit around and practice what disgusting things you’re going to post?

To be fair, Lexington is consistently voted among the best places in America to live. There are prettier campuses but Lexington itself is very nice. Plus, if where he lives is a priority then neither IU nor UK has a chance.
To be fair, Lexington is not consistently listed among the best places to live. I never see their name mentioned, nor KY's campus. Whereas, Bloomington and IU are consistently mentioned as best places to live for culture, the arts, music, etc. and most beautiful campus in the country, respectively.
