There are multiple services that rank attractiveness of college campuses. Of course they are subjective. But IU is almost always in the top 10.

My favorite time in Bloomington as a student was actually the summer I took classes between junior and senior years. Loved walking the campus with fewer people and just the vibe on the perimeters, ie 10th and Indiana. Lived in cottage grove that summer. Great great summer! Loved going to Yogi’s. Spring and fall are also great. What deducts points for me is the 40 consecutive days of not seeing rhe sun one winter that I kept track in my notebook. But when it snowed and the campus was blanketed in white, wow! Gorgeous. I tell everyone that starting with fall semester my freshman year, each semester was the best I ever had. Just kept getting better.

Dunn Meadow in Springtime was a natural attraction to me with its limestone-lined Jordan River banked with towering hemlocks. I also loved the red-bricked pathways through the adjacent woods to the south. Those were good times, graced by spiritual awakenings discovered in magical places of the mind and body.

When I was a kid in the 70s, almost everyone was a Cowboys or Steelers fan. Don't think any of my friends were Bengals, Lions, Bears, or Browns fans. You'd see some Packers fans occasionally, then Denver converted a few around the time of Orange Crush.

I don’t know whose rankings these are but different services have different portal rankings so first clue they have an an element of subjectivity.

It looks like still need to play the season and tourney rather than just naming the champion based on portal rankings.

The other thing to consider is that growing up in South Bend before ESPN and B1G Network meant you never saw IU football on TV. IU basketball, on the other hand, was always on.
