Hunter Johnson Leaving Clemson.....

I announced that Crean was being let go the night before it was public, and also shared that Archie was going to be announced as the head coach and even shared the time of the press conference the night before (Friday). This at the same time as every IU writer was either silent or saying wait until Monday at the earliest.

Believe me or not, but I do have several friends close to the athletic department and university. I’m no longer close to it myself (too many other distractions) but I do hear things every once in awhile.
As do I, but “hearing” things doesn’t make them facts. You also stated with 100% assurance that Donovan and wife were in Btown. You went so far as to say that you had to check it before posting it, and since they were in town, he must be taking the job.
So let’s just say some of your friends aren’t exactly accurate, and that is being kind.

I'm guessing that no one other than Hunter Johnson and his family know where he's headed at this point and he could either make up his mind and/or change his mind over the next couple of months...

It's not like he doesn't have more than a couple of options...

Since I'm an INDIANA fan my rose tinted view tells me we have a legit shot.

If I were one of those recruiting site "crystal ball" guys I'd break it down percentage wise like this:
  1. Northwestern 35%
  2. INDIANA 30%
  3. pu 25%
  4. the rest 10%

Wait a minute!!! You knew that Crean was being let go a full 24 hours before it was made public?!?! Wowza!!! What connections you have! I only knew he was being let go after I ate breakfast and took my dogs to the dog park.

You definitely have some badass connections tho. You also were so on point about Arch's announcement. Those of us not in the know only heard about it the day of, and not the night before like you. Badass brahski! .

Finally, when did Billy D fly into Bloomington again?

Stuff like this is what ruins the board. Arrogant young teenagers who think they know everything.

Why would you not want people to share info they know? Have you ever seen me make a recruiting “prediction” in my decades on here? Do I regularly just make predictions on recruits randomly? No. I’m just sharing what I know. It will likely be Purdue but if it’s not the only other school involved is NW. Believe what you want though.

Yesterday you said Purdue was a lock (you told me to "take it to the bank.") Now, you're saying it's likely Purdue "but if not ..." Tomorrow your position will probably change again, with a claim that every Big Ten team except IU is in the mix.

Look, if you believe the board is ruined (and take a look in the mirror while you consider that), why don't you make your life easier and just move to some other site(s).

So I see you are now backing off your call of “take it to the bank” for PU ?

I’m saying you can take it to the bank that it’s not IU.

PU is 90%+ with NW having a small outside chance.

Just because you don’t like the info doesn’t make it any less true.

Has nothing to do with not liking the info, has to do with not trusting info from a poster who claimed with 100% certainty that Billy Donovan and wife were in Bloomington.
And your response of “take it to the bank” was in reference to your earlier comment that HJ is headed to PU, it was not about where he isn’t going.

all of this may be true but it looks ridiculous when posted on an anonymous website.

FTFY

Try again. I graduated from IU in 2002. Been on this board for like 13 years, but got the ban hammer for saying naughty words and had to start a new username. You posted crap about IU not having a pipeline to FL in this same thread and got called out for that too. Basically, if you weren't so loose with the truth you'd probably get a lot less grief around here. I certainly don't expect you to change, but you'll need to if you want to see a different outcome in the future.

You do know every single program claims a Florida “pipeline” right? Just because so many kids come out of there. It’s abiut quality not quantity when recruiting FL or any other state.
Correct. Florida has like 21 million people and Indiana has like 6.5 million. Just volume alone contributes to the talent pool. PS I'm glad we have some Florida connections. Go Hoosiers!

Agree. I’m done defending myself. I really don’t care. I just share info when I know it and I come here for the same from others.

You’re not that old. No reason to lie. You talk just like my teenage grandsons. No way a 35-40 year old would use such ridiculous slang.

That's not what folks in the know (and Matt Weaver) are saying on the other site. We've got a legit shot.

You've got grandkids? The way you talk/post, I always thought you were one of the youngsters on this board.

Pot meet kettle.

I'm 42. I graduated HS in 1994 (won the 5A IN football state championship at Bloomington South in fall of 1993 - humblebrag ) and graduated from IU in 2002. Then I got my master's from Idaho in 2004. Just because I'm cool enough to be able to talk to your teenage grandkids only adds to my overall coolness coefficient. I talk a lot like Ryan Reynolds, who is also 42.

Now this is the part where you tell me to get off your lawn. :D

You do realize that Brady wasn’t even a regular starter at Michigan. Your “offensive guru”, Debord, rotated him with Drew Henson. If I am a QB considering IU, the fact that Debord did not recognize or did not know how to utilize the talents of what arguably could be the best NFL QB of all time would not be viewed as a positive in my eyes. Based on what I’ve seen of debord’s career, including his stint as a Bears assistant, i don’t think IU fans should be feeling confident that your offense will perform at a much higher level than what you saw last year under Debord.

Might want to go and recheck your facts. Brady started EVERY game his Jr/Sr seasons. Plus, in a quick look at the stats in those seasons, it looks like there were only 2 games were Henson got a significant number of snaps in non-garbage time, both of which came when Brady had an atrocious 1st quarter.

In one game, Henson lead the team to a win. In other, after completing just 2 of his first 8 passes and getting a little bench time, Brady comes back completing 28 of 33 for 270 yards.

Wouldn't count that as a rotating QBs

PENALTY

Use of facts on a message board

10 yards

Automatic first down.

This is yet another reason why losing the Bucket game was such a setback. If you take away our bias, and look at it from a football objective, one program has been hovering at respectable for three or four years and the other won more games last year (and more than we have in 10 years) than they had in the previous three years combined. Throw in that Brohm is an offensive coach, the "Cradle of Quartebacks" BS, and that there is a legitimate chance for Purdue to one day win that weak division. I hope he comes to Indiana, but after last season, we have lost almost all of the instate supremacy we enjoyed the past five years. It makes me sick, and it was good to finally read in the Andy Graham article last week that it does Tom Allen, also.

He may love Brohm and head right there. He also might love Allen, the superior facilities and campus. He might want to play in the Big Boy division. He might not like either one.

We shall see.

Boy, I guess your moderators are not open to differing opinions and posters from other rivals boards. My posts are getting deleted even though all I was doing was having a factual debate about Mike Debord’s track record. Iconsider that healthy debate, not trolling. I guess this board is exclusively for those wearing crimson colored sunglasses.

It was Lloyd Carrs call not the OC's...

You're being more than a little disingenuous if you pretend not to know that.

Lloyd ran that show with an iron fist.

Thought you are projecting yourself here as a"knowledgeable" MI fan. If you weren't aware of that I call: B.S.

Per Hunter, I think the timing may be sooner than we think? Why? Because getting him will be like signing a blue chip QB going into their senior year given he has to sit out a year. Camps start up soon and many players, and perhaps especially QBs, will likely commit in June/July so they can have that done and focus on senior year (and since spots get spoken for too.) So wherever he goes, may affect the other QB recruits decision to go there and both the program and the players will likely want to know that.

I hope he makes a decision by or before 7/1 for just that reason, which I bet he will sooner also to perhaps get in a summer school class or two to help stay ahead of his academic needs.

As per IU's chances, I think the DeBoard/Tennesse ties, the Ballou Avon ties, and an IU program that is still seen as having good talent and momentum is in the mix, regardless of what fpeaugh says. Nor do I think it is "take it to the bank" he's going to PU (90%) or NU (10%). Think other schools likely in the mix as well.

TBD

Don’t tell fpeaugh!

Those that know aren't talking, and those that talk aren't knowing.

My opinion is that the kid will draw interest from every school in the league.

Heck, any school that doesn't reach out to him isn't trying.

But if I had to BET where he goes, I'd bet a trifecta box of IU, Purdue and Louisville.

I really wish this had some legitimacy to it but it doesn’t. IU is out. Not even being considered. I guess one website is trying to get page clicks...I know, shocking!

It’s a 2 horse race. Will likely be Purdue but he’s open to at least listening to NW. Lets all just root for NW at least.

fpeaugh, take a break. Whatever you're selling the people here aren't buying. Give it a rest.

I see nothing wrong with his posts. He's stating his opinion, as everyone here does. Difference is, he is getting attacked for presenting an unpopular opinion.

There are people who come on here every day and claim to be an ex-player or coach or someone who 'knows somebody'. Why the attack on this guy, who claims he knows the family and is steadfast in his opinion?

We'll all find out sooner or later. I think you all should give it a rest and state your opinion and quit worrying about what anyone else says.
