So the suspect in Magdeburg is apparently a Saudi doctor who emigrated over twenty years ago.

These people are horrible parents and people, but if you actually read the accounts of what happened, these headlines inaccurately sensationalize it.

I kind of don't even want to make this point, because I know it will be too easy for people to accuse me of dismissing the very real awful things they did, but seriously, why must we lie about these things? The truth is bad enough. Why can't we just stick with that?
Here's a much less clickbaity description of what went down.
I also attempted an X post but it is blocked bc of its sensitive content label. That post is the supposed video of the father choking his daughter on the ground while people try and get him off of her.
the Olympian article is very solid and corroborated much of the story from the X post. The father not only threatened to “honor kill” his daughter but choked her out and may have done it without bystander assistance. The mother is a psycho as well.
