Unfortunately…usually plays a part in these types of games
Who has Notre Dame beat? Army?
Lost to fkn Northern Illinois. Yet nobody concerned with their playoff position.
TAMU. Navy. Louisville. GaTech. And of course Army. And several convincingly.
I have no love for Notre Dame, but they've proven they belong this year. Their resume outpaces ours by a long shot. They only thing we have over them is the lack of a really bad loss like they have.
Their SOS is like 88 vs ours at 106. Not a glaring difference. And they have the bad loss
That's a huge boost.
Yeah, but at least they beat teams with winning records.
Don't get me wrong, I still think we deserve to be in. But lacking a single big time win is going to make us sweat that final ranking.
Only stumbling block I see out there at this point is A&M winning out.
Or we have some dick stepping nightmare next we....oh fk I'm not even going to say it.

Have to figure out the overload blitz…been really struggling with it the last 6 quarters
Not just the loaded blitz, but teams are stunting up front and then coming with the delayed blitz as well, so we're having a hard time communicating on the line.
With that said Ohio State and Michigan might have the two best lines we face all year long. They both have multiple NFL guys on their defenses, so it's no surprise we were going to struggle against them a bit.
But it’s also a good sign that they had to scheme a little to get home.
Nebraska 6-5, Washington 6-5, Michigan 6-5 now. Without our loss are all 6-4 playing a B1G schedule.
Yeah, we're still bubble, but highly likely. And deserving.

The overload is what leads to sacks before Rourke can even plant his back foot on a 4 or 5 step drop. With the others, he should be able to throw it away or pass to where they came from.
We need to work on some max protection packages. Cignetti & Co. have done a wonderful job, but they got out-schemed there and had no answer v. OSU.
It's the SPEED with the overload that was the problem.
We can gameplan for that all we wanted, but there was no way to recreate that speed.
Just to be safe, we need to beat the ever loving snot out of them.
We need to do that whether the playoffs are on the line or not.
Yes and no. A spit-back shotgun with a TE creates three extra blockers to stop that speed--speed can't just run straight through a decent blocker.
It got ridiculous. A couple of the sacks were because the RB didn’t slide over to where they overloaded. Not sure if it’s on him or the protection they called. I was surprised they didn’t bring a TE to block or extra RB. It was obvious we needed another blocker.
Unrelated to your valid points, and I’m going to blatantly change the subject, but I’m going to “rant” just a bit about the game’s ending.
Now, I didn’t see it. I turned off the game and took my bride to Madison, GA for some Thanksgiving shopping when the fvcking Buckeyes hit 28 points. Somebody can correct the sequence, but as I understand it, an OSU running back downed the ball before scoring a touchdown but then Day called a play for a last score rather than taking a knee and ending the game. Is that pretty much correct? Okay, it’s valid to say that it’s IU’s job to stop us (OSU), but most would take the knee.
Then, this morning, I saw a picture of the video board at the shoe showing Cignetti at game’s end with the script, “Buckeyes win! . . .Google it.” (May not be exact, but it’s close if not precise) Okay, kind of funny - more appropriate for a handheld sign by a student - but I’m not sure I’d be real happy about it if I were associated with the university. How would we feel if the Assembly Hall video boards all showed “Purdue Sucks!” or “POTFB!” Leave it to the kids. The university shouldn’t be involved. We all know what Knight would have done with “Purdue Sucks” chants or having that flashed for all to see on TV screens around the country.
Anyway, another god-damned year of listening to obnoxious and repulsive OSU neighbors, their flags, banners and fvcking 8-foot blowup Brutus dolls.

Anyway. Let’s bring a positive light to it all. I played soccer in the horseshoe. You should see what that place looks like with a crowd of 1,500
You should be fined by the KC but it’s Sunday and we’re being forgiving and gracious.
I’ve been to the shoe once, when I had been transferred from Chicago to Columbus, and can happily say I saw OSU lose to Florida State, maybe ‘80 or ‘81.
I played soccer in it a number of times and saw mich osu once. Vastly different environments
It absolutely does though.
When both our tackles were getting beat by a simple shoulder rip and then just bringing an overload, yes, speed was an issue.
