HH Now!

I was in Indiana for the first time in over 1.5 years today. Spent time in Elkhart, Notre Dame, Muncie, Indy and Bloomington. B - town is the only place that hasn’t moved on from COVID fanaticism. It felt like October 2020 there while the rest of the state seems to be living a bit more normally. Just an observation from somebody who’s been away for awhile
They have the strictest covid mandates in the state. Whether it’s individual or government. I’m telling you it’s was a factor in the hall.

I wouldn’t call it fanaticism. Whatever the CDC recommends B town will follow it. Their Covid numbers aren’t bad compared to the rest of the state. We are struggling in southern Indiana. It’s running through our workplace with vengeance.

It’s overblown. Cases are going down again. Deaths didn’t anywhere close to last winter. Overall deaths weren’t out of the ordinary in 2020 than they were in previous years. Time to get back to normal.

There wasn’t even a scrimmage. That would have at least been entertaining.
Wow. They dropped the ball on that. I haven’t been since they held it at midnight. That was what made it fun. Spend the evening in Bloomington grabbing something to eat and hanging out and then going over to Assembly Hall. I have no interest going to an event like that in the middle of the day.

It would be fine if the scrimmage was the entire event. That would draw a huge amount of fans and viewers. No one cares about 3pt, skillls, or dunk competitions. They also had 30 minutes of drills which were extremely boring.

Very poorly executed, and I would imagine there were a number of unhappy people there.

Mask wearing has little to do with a lack of attendance. Most people got past their issues with masks long ago. This is about the state of the program.
Wrong! Had many texted me today that they did not want to deal with the elements and decided to watch on the stream... It was by far the best HH in some time. The program is is heading in the right direction much to your chagrin.

This is funny.

My how far the apple has fallen from the tree.

Maybe you can roll over to West Lafayette and stay there?

Half the team is hurt. Maybe they could have pulled you out of the stands for the scrimmage

Don’t be a douche. I’m not alone. It will absolutely affect attendance
No, it won’t (if we have it). Do you know anyone who’s even modestly intelligent who won’t attend an event because they have to wear one? I get that they’re annoying, but you have to wear them in airports and on airplanes, and people overwhelmingly comply. Ballgames will be the same.

CMW made the right decision. Being short handed he didn't want to display an inferior product. What we saw was a quasi-practice with him miked up. Weaves with 2,3,4 and 5 players. Mixing it up along the way. That being said... I ended up at at the IU vs PSU womens volleyball match to see some real competition.

I’m modestly intelligent, so yes I do

Parker Stewart and Leal were the only shooters worthy of shooting 3's....from the men's side.

Xavier Johnson has a broke jumper. Ali Patberg carried him along.

Galloway, Kopp, Durr, and Lander were non-participants.

Trayce is over-rated because he is not a good leader. Talented and strong though, yes. Good teammate, but I expect more leadership from him at this point.

Geronimo is going to surprise some people. He is looking really good.

Johnson had good intensity. He and Rob both look good as ball handlers. Johnson dunked the ball ferociously on drives.

Race will be a steady and consistent contributor. When you add Kopp on the wing, that is a pretty solid frontcourt with Race and Trayce.

Bates is going to be a good player. He has excellent size and wide shoulders.

Duncan is easily 6'10". He will not play a lot this year but he is a talented kid and will contribute a lot in the next couple years.

Why are they requiring a mask there? I haven’t had to wear a mask anywhere in last 6 months except an airport.

They should have disclosed there would be no scrimmage prior to the event. No one gives a shit about anything else that occurred. Middles schoolers can run 2,3,3, and 5 man weaves.

What’s the difference between an arena with a capacity of 17,000 in a confined, indoor space, and an airport?

"Geronimo is going to surprise some people. He is looking really good" - Agree on this! He is in much better shape physically and mentally.

I think both of you are correct. If a mask is required, with little effort I can name two dozen people that won’t participate. I can also name about the same number that won’t throw their money away on lukewarm basketball.
